Fighting Game Central

Mokujin I know it was for technical reasons, but I love the head cannon that both events from 7 and 8 weren't bad enough for his involvement

Tekken and Street Fighter is always welcome to me!
Ye tekken 8 is on a sale right now but so is WWE 2K25 for about the same price o decisions. i gave away my tekken 8 physical copy months back so someone can find it at a book case. i keep tekken 6, 7 and tag tournament 2 on my x box series s its my fighting hub

Street Fighter Of Course GIF

SF2 isn't super high on my list (even though I kinda like ST) but I do recognize how important it is to fighting game history as a whole. Fine for what it is, and amazing at the time. Does it hold up? ...kind of. Worst thing you can say about it is that it's a broken game, but that's most fighting games.

Honorable mention to the US rom of Super Turbo where the difficulty dipswitch is fucked, which makes it always be on max difficulty no matter what level you choose. Thanks, 30th Anniversary Collection, lol.

Street Fighter II was important to change fighting games for good (Yie Ar Kung-Fu was also interesting) yet I always feel like I'm playing underwater when I do that version instead of its subsequent releases.

So this explains why I'm struggling (yes, I'm not great with this entry).

Opinions of the sf movie that got announced? I think it looks like shit and tried to fit as many A-tier actors as possible. I doubt it'll respect the source material or be so cheesy it's good like the original.

Name ONE video game movie that respects its source material.

Sonic maybe you could argue Minecraft. Even if there wasn't it doesn't stop it from being a problem?
It's still a problem, lol. My point is that disrespecting source material is gonna be a given at this rate.
But I do agree that this isn't looking very promising from the casting choices alone.

The Professor Layton movie
I forgot there was one.

Detective Pikachu was quite faithful to the game (the Pokémon series less so).

This thread derailed but I am fine with the original Mortal Kombat movie.

As another option, I'd recommend playing Hyper Street Fighter II's arcade mode if you are looking for a fairer challenge. The opponents are always in their ST version, so the game is functionally the same as normal ST, only without the CPU difficulty bug. Edition select is a fun addition as well. Characters like Guile changed significantly over the various versions of SF2.

I remember having a blast with Barbarian (Death Sword), Yier Ar Kung Fu, Budokan, Street Smart and International Karate in the 80s

In the arcades in the 90s I liked playing or watching MK 1, 2 & 3, World Heroes 2, Street Fighter 2, Samurai Showdown 1, Virtua Fighter 1&2, Tekken 2&3, Primal Rage, Killer Instinct, Last Blade 2

Also on PC there were some fun games like Body Blows, Time Slaughter, Prey for Death, Cyber Gladiators, Battle Beast, One Must Fall 2097 + ports and roms of arcade games

In the 2000s, in arcades I played KOF 2001, SF3: third strike, Tekken 4, Guilty Gear XX Slash
On Dreamcast I had Soulcalibour 1, Virtua Fighter 3tb, Jojo Bizarre Adventure, Third Strike
Though favourites became Garou and Rage of the Dragons via emulation

In the 2010s SF4, Blazblue Calamity Trigger, Arcana Heart 3, Skullgirls, Battle Fantasia.
Also Breakers Revenge and Vampire Savior via emulation
