I searched for the plot of this new ice age and here is what it says on the imdb page.

"A wild adventure through dinosaurs and lava as Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the herd explore uncharted regions of the dangerous Lost World."

I love the series, but it's been losing steam with each new installment like Shrek, Madagascar and Kung-Fu Panda, so I'm deeply skeptical.

I'm telling you, i was 11 when the 5th one came out and even back then i knew when a movie was bad, even before that i preferred watching the lorax over ice age 4, something in that young age just told me the series already lost it's charm after dawn of the dinosaurs, not helping was that years later i found out about the weird Christmas special (yes, santa appears in the ice age) and since 2012 the series felt like a cashgrab, i even had McDonald's toys of the 4th movie and watched it a few times back in 2014, so i do have some nostalgia for that one, but collision course...just no.

and while it's been10 years since collision course and 4 since adventures of buck wild, the imdb page just seems like the 3 and 5 movies again, just with "better animation", heck the "lost world" already wasn't the one from the third film?

let's face it, cg animation hasn't really evolved that muche since 2011, the strongest movie in that regard is toy story 4, and that was in 2019, at this point it doesn't matter if you're watching it on the big screen, a 4k tv, a 1080p monitor or a 480p clip on youtube, all you know is that it looks "realistic" same with games of the last 2 gens, which is weird to say for ice age because this series has a really strong animation style (with the exception of the first movie, taobw and the specials) but the way they moved in the 5th film just seemed wrong, i at least expect character movement more akin to the first 3 movies, the movement already in the 4th felt so exaggerated, specially the opening and ending to the film, if different i expect something like the first Zootopia and not something like moving like the looney tunes.

The first one was great, 2 and 3 were good but felt very different, 4 was like the kids say "mid" and the 5th one was pure cringe, aside from that and the fast food toys like happy meals and such there's isn't really anything worth it about it, maybe the games for ice age 2 and 3, those seemed good

I think 3 is better than 2 (especially with Burt) which made 2 feel like a filler episode between the first and the third.

It should've ended with 3.

4 felt too much alongside 5 which completely destroyed Burt as a character...

I watched ice age since i was a kid, these movies are my childhood and i watched the first, third and fourth so many times when discs was something modern and the only one i dislike is the fifth.

with the exception of the second movie because the movie freezes in the part when manny was finishing the story to the kids.

and i finished the second movie years later.

It's actually sad to think that Rio was 15 years ago..., i watched it with my dad in the theater and had a great time, and the movie itself was good, then came the sequel which i haven't watched in over a decade since it's release, i watched it with my mom also in theaters and since i was 8-9 i really didn't think about the quality of the film that much, it's probably way worse than the first one, but i don't think a rewatch would make it to the level of Ralph breaks the internet, that's for sure

I also miss angry birds rio, i still have it on an old phone, but the screen is broken so a good chunk of the screen is unwatchable, if only the fans tried to make ab 1-swii compatible with modern phones... doesn't seem like it, specially with google's apk bs.

I watched rio 2 in cinema with my mom,sister and my little brother but i didnt see the ending because we are Running late for the dentist.

and i miss angry birds rio on phones too.
