Favorite old films?

Häxan fuckin rules

Some of the facts in it are outdated but the underlying thesis holds true. The entire movie is just a treat for the eye, every single shot feels delicately crafted, and the effects are still a spectacle to behold

Jim Carrey's magnum opus, tbh, this movie really left an impression on me when I first watched it a few years ago. The ending of this movie never fails to bring tears to my eyes

It's a really beautiful movie, tbh

Some of the oldest movies I've seen that I really dig are:

The Blood of a Poet (1932)
Battleship Potemkin (1926)
Metropolis (1927)
M (1931)
Man With A Movie Camera (1929)

There's way too many for me and I don't know which I like the most. I don't mind watching these movies again though:
Day of the Jackal
The Spy Who Came in From the Cold
Burn (1969)
Apocalypse Now
Le Cercle Rouge
Carnival of Souls
The Third Man
Blade Runner
Das Boot
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly
Army of Shadows
Waterloo
Mulholland Dr.
Wages of Fear
Sorcerer
Rashomon
Videodrome

There are so many classics out there it's hard to choose, so I'll try to stick to one's that haven't been mentioned on this page at least:

I watched watched Come and See a few weeks ago, definitely a film that stays with you forever.

I have a feeling 12 Angry Men has been mentioned in this thread, but I'll just bring it up anyway.

I think I did bring it up! It’s an excellent film, I know it’s shown in film school too so that’s neat. It’s quite powerful.

Yeah, that movie pulls no punches when it comes to it's depiction of war. It's about as harrowing as The Road.

Hmmmm the original Night of the Living Dead, original Dawn of the Dead, The Breakfast Club, The Thing, An American Werewolf in London. Highlander, Kiki's Delivery Service, Office Space, Dumb and Dumber, Escape from New York, Planet of the Apes. The Blues Brothers, Animal House, Fast times at Ridgemount high , Honestly too many to name

If I had to recommend just one from those periods it would be The Breakfast Club. It is probably my second favorite movie behind the Fellowship of the Ring and really easy for anyone to watch.

Is there a Twilight of the Dead movie?

Is there a Twilight of the Dead movie?
Not by the OG, RIP George A. Romero!
Interesting notes about Night and Dawn though.

Night is public domain meaning anyone can make derrivative works based on it.

Dawn has a producer in the USA holding out for a big paycheck preventing home media releases. Luckily his tendrils do not extend to international and you can import a blu ray/4k from the UK.
