This is, like, a fraction of the older movies I like, being a film major, I've watched my fair share of more vintage and arthouse film, but this is NOTHING to what I have under my belt. I would recommend everyone to watch, at least, one of these films here. It would be a favor to yourself.

These are my favorite movies, sorry for those big pictures i did take them from letterboxd

Dawn of the Dead, Zombie 2, Superman 1978, From Russia with Love, The God Father, Gojira, Dirty Harry, Cannonball Run; off the top of my head.

Special mention to Blue Thunder, it makes me wish there's be a modern take on Super Thunder Blade. The final fight as they shoot and dodge each other between buildings, I'd want that in game form, a dog fight in a city, shooting at each other dodging building going fast. Don't lie, it sounds cool for a game.

Sartana is very good!!

I love these two movies, the aesthetics make them seem like they are from the same TV series.

Not going to mention all that's been said to death already, so I'll just add these two for now.

Hiroshima - Hideo Sekigawa (1953)

and for something lighter, my favourite french comedy film :

L'aventure c'est l'aventure - Claude Lelouch (1972)

Depends on the context on what you mean old. Since now, 2000s movies are considered old because they are over 20 years old now. Lol. Still if I have to think my favorite oldest film...like if someone was to make a timeline of all my favorite movies of all time, then the first two that would appear in that timeline would be Charlie Chaplin's The Kid (1921) and A Page Of Madness (1927).

The Kid is still after 100 years later one of the most emotional pieces of media I have ever seen. Like, I still cry watching it, it touches me that deeply.
A page of madness is unabashedly surreal, and I love it. It is creepy af, and manages to still creep me out a bit after so many years.

Awesome thread I am a Cinephile since childhood here i saw a lot of good movie recommendations.
Awesome Avalanche GIF

I love Gorgo. Something about a sub-par script being elevated by amazing effects really does it for me. Plus the fact that its some of the best western tokusatsu of the 20th century AND free on YouTube with no ads doesn't hurt either

Lord of the Rings a classic till this day.
Spirited away I re-watched this Movie many times
I don't know if i would recomend those Films/Movies as they are quite Sad but here as follows:
Charlie alle Hunde kommen in den Himmel and Niklaas Der Junge aus Flandern
and sad Film recommendation over here are some other once here for example a hidden gem in my Opinion
The Magic Sword or Quest for Camelot as it seems to be called in America https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_for_Camelot
and another Recommendation
Ab durch die Hecke
well I also liked when i was younger Werner Gekotzt Wird Später
and der Schatzplanet
and the Movie #9 Also a hidden gem i would say.
I know this list is a bit messy sorry for that and some titles are written her in there German version as i did not have the motivation to look and search up each and every Movie name for there American counterpart
Episode 8 Yes GIF by PBS

Casablanca is high on my list. I liked watching it in a "Literature Through Film" class in my senior year of high school. None of the other teens in the class liked it, those ingrates.

I also have a soft spot for The Dunwich Horror from 1970. The spell used to kill the Horror's brother when he was screeching "YOG! SO-THOTH!" is etched in my mind ("KAY GHEE MAH!"), let alone igniting his molotov cocktail with a lightning bolt through it.

Wizards, Heavy Metal and Fire and Ice are top-tier classic adult animated movies. Though Wizards' plot felt weak compared to the others... even the "episodic" (for a lack of a word thereof) Heavy Metal. Eh, still cool fantasy-apocalyptia.

The lone wolf and cub movies from the 70s are so cool. I’ve only seen the first two but they’ve become fast favorites

Wizards is a sleeper favorite of mine. The last “ fight” is some of the funniest shit to me but I think it’s sincerely cool.

What a selection! I only watch a couple of this list. I'm a big fan of Werner Herzog, so every movie who did with Klaus Kinsky it's a must for me. Herzog was the favourite director of my deceased father (alongside Kieslowsky), so every time i rewatch Aguirre or Fitzcarraldo is very special to me. Recently i watched Double Indemnity, it's a must-have so i have Sunset Boulevard in my soon-to-watch list. Mark of the Vampire by Tod Browning and The Hidden Fortress by Kurosawa are two old films that i love too.
