Pepsiman, Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time and Hercules they are not obscure games; on the contrary, they are very well known.

Maybe this games too:
Vib-Ribbon
Hogs of War
Silent Bomber
Brave Fencer Musashi
Galerians
Dragon Valor

Obscure now, or obscure during the PS1's life? I rented a good amount of these from the neighbourhood video store as a kid.

I would also add:

Gouketuji Ichizoku 2 - Chottodake Saikyou Densetsu
Soukaigi
B Senjou No Alice: Alice On Borderlines
Deep Freeze
Robotron X

Obscure now.
I have noticed that many of the games mentioned are still completely ignored today, unfortunately.
At the time, I also saw many games that have since been forgotten.

I highly recommend checking out Echo Night and Echo Night: Nemuri no Shihaisha. I wouldn't say they are obscure but most FromSoft fans never heard of them thats for sure. There are some cursed for different reasons games like Yaku - Yuujou Dangi (or Misfortune: A Story of Suspicious Friendships as its titled here), Creature Shock and Kowai Shashin that are pretty weird to say the least. Also I can't recommend Dr. Slump enough, its a fun platformer collect-a-thon with very good graphics (by PS1 standarts especially) which is just a delight to play.

Alundra
Ghost in the Shell
Koudelka
Blood Omen: The Legacy of Kain (A lot of people talk about the sequel, Soul Reaver, but the original Blood Omen seems to get overlooked)

Pepsiman, Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time and Hercules they are not obscure games; on the contrary, they are very well known.
And in this time and age lots of "obscure games" became popular so we can sell lots of rubbish games for high price to mindless collectors!!! lolol

All joking aside there are still obscure games for sure:

- Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman (Oh wait it's not obscure anymore!!!! It was really obscure but IDK what happened afterwards. Perhaps my comments on "it's granma of Devil May Cry, God Hand and Samurai Western" everywhere did the thing lol)

- Or should I mention a really obscure PS1 game called "Sub"? You can hardly find Google search result for it, and Google think I meant the Sub-Zero game lol.

Here is a SS from the game. IDK if the game is cyberpunk game of controlling this digital animal or my PC is about to explode!!! Me fear trying this game on my oldie but goodie PS2 lolol.

- But then lots of obscure games stayed obscure because they are really a shit so the real question is do you wanna really learn about some shit games you would forget in 1 minutes anyway. For example Telefoot Manager, who would play this rubbish lol? And the fuck is this shit game?:

lol

Instead we gotta talk about underrated games because they deserve popularity but they are not like this soccer action game!!!:

Instead of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 we should talk about "da Mission" yo!!! lolol

It's hard to suggest obscure games when everyone's experience is different. Galerians was overshadowed by Resident Evil, but plenty of people have heard of it, and yet others say it's obscure.

I remember when Bushido Blade first came out and it was advertised everywhere, and I picked up a copy so I wouldn't consider that obscure at all.

Some lesser known games I've played recently (not necessarily an endorsement of all of them haha):

Came here to say Rising Zan! Glad someone beat me to it 😇

As for one that hasn't been mentioned:

Treasures of the Deep - a surprisingly well-done submarine / diving sim, especially given the hardware limitations. Just hope you aren't hydrophobic...

OverBlood and its even more obscure sequel.
Juggernaut
Hellnight
ParanoiaScape
Mad Panic Coaster

As a side note, maybe sort the list in alphabetical order.

Just when I thought I was done with the PS1, a forum thread like this one pulls me back in.

I played Future Cop LAPD and Vib-Ribbon. Future Cop gets mentioned quite a bit with the Brigador fanbase, rightfully too since it's a brilliant game.

I discovered gungage this week not bad

Really? Because I never see them mentioned alongside games like Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 7 when I see videos or articles on the best PS1 games.

Just gonna toss a handful out here:

-Nessa no Hoshi
-Tokyo Dungeon
-Sentient
-Yuuyami Doori Tankentai
-Simple 1500 Series Vol. 57: The Meiro

Why would you mention Japanese-only games? Of course they're obscure, most people wouldn't even be able to understand enough to play them.
:loldog

Honestly I'll just categorize obscure as things that received less or even next to no popularity because the genre they're in have popular/mainstream games that got discussed more instead.
Street Sk8er 1+2 is a good choice, although it's a great skate game by itself more people prefer Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 more because of the brand name of Tony and his X Games friends and the gameplay is much simpler, only completing objectives within required time. Vigilante 8 duology is also that as people know the Twisted Metal tetralogy much more in this demolition derby genre.
I wouldn't really call the Deception/Trap Games obscure, it had its loyal fans and got discussed quite often as people loved its gameplay concept at the time and it's pretty much one-of-a-kind. Same with Toshinden series and Psychic Force duology, while they're not that well known as a proper fighting games people still play and discuss them for other things than the gameplay.

So in further ado, my own list:
In the Hunt
Treasures of the Deep
Nightmare Creatures
Monkey Magic
Pandemonium!
Master of Monsters
MDK
Urban Chaos
Crisis Beat
Street Sk8er 1+2
Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX
Dragon Seeds
Saiyuki: Journey West
Kartia: The World of Fate
PaRappa the Rapper & UmJammer Lammy
Bust a Groove
Incredible Crisis
Rescue Shot
Elemental Gearbolt
Hellnight/Dark Messiah
Chaos Break
Team Buddies
Mr. Driller
Puzzle Bobble
Panzer Front
Hydro Thunder
Destrega
Silent Bomber
Bomberman Fantasy Race

No doubt while people probably recognize a few games on my list, they wouldn't even know the rest of them. ::smirk1
