Extremely Weird And Obscure Games

That's a pretty cool name, I'm intrigued.

Interesting premise, I'm in

Yeah I'm sold, time to dust off my 360
for real.. do it do it do it.. it is janky tho... look up a guide to steal that good shit, like snipers and uh a secret character (who looks like a jin roh the wolf brigade guy) with a semi auto anti tank rifle.. also get good at the overwatch thing (cant remember what its called in the game)...

Youtube recomended me a video about horror games with mecha/giant robots and while watching the video he showed a trillogy of dungeon crawling mecha games that called my atention

I think What's Under Your Blanket is inspired by this game. I tried to link it here, but it's not on steam anymore it seems. There is some info on Mobygames so i'll link it here.

I used to gift this to my friend list whenever there was a summer sale, sucks that it's gone.
That looks weird. I'll have to check it out. Man this goes down a dark weird rabbit hole
if you go to Newgrounds and check out some of JankYardAnimations games. At your own risk!!!
SERIOUSLY DON'T GO AND LOOK

ok.. that is obscure

Not that "weird", but pretty "obscure". I don't see a lot of people talk about this, and the all-time current player record was 35 on Steam last time I checked.

It's basically like No Man's Sky, but with a pretty nice low-poly look. Unfortunately, this game's far from perfect...
I see a lot of potential here, but I think the developers gave up on it a long time ago :/

I am pretty close to getting all the achievments, but the last 2 are so tedious :P

I just scrolled through all 49 pages just to remember what weird game it was I posted but it turns out it was actually a thread talking about the steam release of Milano's Odd Job Collection. I kind of hate it when shit get's merged around here.

Anyway instead of just complaining I guess I'll contribute too.

ummmm... where might one find this body conquest 2 and hi leg fantasy? just curious..

just checked, surprised to find neither on the Repo. Most of the PC Engine stuff was added long before we had a 18+ section so it was probably skipped over.
Hi-Leg Fantasy is a Games Express CD release, so you'll need their specific system card to even run it. Body Conquest II is HuCard, the first game is on the Famicom Disc System. I've gotten most of my PC Engine rips from achieve.org though I don't remember exactly what page. If you reeeally want them I could just send you the rips I have. ::winkfelix

Ive got the famicom disc system one, I didnt know there was a PC engine sequel.. I had never heard of Hi Leg Fantasy... naw, thanks for telling me.. Ill try to find it on my own if I remember to.. if not, I may hit you up on it someday

Ladies, Gentlemen, and the rest of my fellow Repo Reprobates - I present one of the many oddities in my Archive: Space Shuttle Project (NES - Absolute Entertainment/Imagineering Inc, 1991).

Imagine, if you will - A NASA-Themed WarioWare style game before WarioWare was a thing. An overly-complicated little box of moving parts, a complex mix of minigames and simulation...that somehow missed a PC launch, and landed on the NES, of all things.

You can fail to even get to the meat of the gameplay at the start of the game by botching a 4-number keycode at security, and wind up arrested for Astronaut Impersonation...and that's actually kinda funny, in and of itself...you can also get mocked by the press for botching one too many missions...to be honest, this is a game I've kinda put in my "I tried it for like...30 minutes, got frustrated, put it on the 'To do Later' pile" list.

umm.. I could put some stuff on here, but they are NSFW.. is Vagrant/ Sword of the Vagrant or Dragons Spear obscure? they're both vanillaware clones, but good ones...

Just watched the trailer on Steam. Interesting premise! Have you played it? Does it really play into paranoia vs hallucination factor or does it feel more restrained/conceptual?

I’ve been playing Pudding: Lyre Knight recently, and I guess that could count. At first, it looks like a good old Touhou inspired shmup, but you can’t actually shoot anything. You have the “lyre shield,” which reflects enemy bullets but also hurts you when you use it. Your companion, Cygnus, hates it.

Instead, she’d much rather you get in her “Happiness Ring,” which protects from all attacks but also fills up a very suspicious heart-shaped bar on the left.

While there is a big bad boss in this game, it seems almost incidental compared to the menace of your cute companion here. I’ve seen two endings so far, and the most disturbing one comes from listening to Cygnus and finishing the game inside the Happiness Ring.

Definitely a game you can’t judge by its cover; it creates an impressive amount of narrative depth out of what looks like a simple gimmick-based shmup and a cute waifu.
