Emotional video game music

While I always loved the Moon Theme in Ducktales NES, and get a decent amount of emotion from it due to memories attached to that game... the cartoon reboot made it hit so much harder. Like, I'm not even an avid watcher of that version of the show, but I caught that and it really moved me.

Also these...

Ruins of Sadness from Klonoa 2, and maybe the entire ost while weโ€™re at it.

Songs are woven into the story far more naturally in it, embodying its impressionistic core. While the original is all about the eventual abscence of dreaming, or escapism, Klonoa 2 is focused more on the aspect of unity and embracing the past we have through confrontation and understanding, whether scary or not and you can really hear that in the tracks.
I love that one

i know this one is a little divisive in the realm of katamari songs because of the vocals, but for me personally it always hits me in the feels. it's one of those things that makes me nostalgic for a childhood i never had, yknow?

I've never played Terranigma but this makes me feel sad.
You better be prepared, Ikagura, when you play it, it has its ups and downs, that's for sure.
In the meanwhile, try the previous two: Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia.
The entire "Tenchi Souzou" ("The Creation of Heaven and Earth") sub-series, is made after the two games of ActRaiser (at least the first one).
The intended spiritual successor, is The Granstream Saga (for PlayStation 1).

Armored core: for answer's main menu. Sometimes upon booting the game I would become too melancholic to play it because of the song and visuals.

It's a bit silly, but I get emotional at this part of mgs2's intro. It feels incredibly heroic with all the soldiers standing at attention as the music swells.

The feels theme of the Utawarerumono series, i absolutely love it, but it does make me tear up.

One of Mili's finest addition to Library of Ruina:

Gentle jena gets me every time:

Oh, and the best theme for best girl in Katawa Shoujo:

Wow, so many good posts already, not sure what to add. How about the disgaea games? Whenever "sorrowful angel" starts playing, I know I am in for some feels
Also, does anyone know the title of the song that plays during this scene?

All things considered, my life was too short...zam ;_;

Ive got a few, but of i had to say the one that is the most emotional to me.. Maybe this one

Pawel Perepelica. He has done some really good stuff. Black Mesa: Blue Shift, Gestalt and others. He is very much in line with Joel Nielsen, Lance Hayes, Ed harrison and Oleg Gelo.
