Stuff that hits ye in the feels. Maybe even *sniff* makes ye tear up a bit.

For me, Ashes of Dreams honestly hits pretty hard. First time you beat the game, it gets ye right in the gut.
After like, the fourth time listening to the song however, it sort of loses it's luster.....
Great song none the less.

God the Nier OST in general is such a masterpiece. The Devola/Popola renditions in particular mess me up every single time.

Probably a cliché, but I have a particular soft spot for the Halo ODST soundtrack. Not necessarily emotional, but super atmospheric and engrossing.

My first immediate thought when reading the topic title was Nier's soundtrack. So emotional and powerful. I prefer Automata's slightly more, but Replicant was amazing.

Okay I'm a big Idea Factory fan... These have a unique mature feel I really love for an opening, They don't feel like they're about cool fighting or heroics.

For me, it was a blast when I heard this version for the first time, back in 199X...

(Final Fantasy III/VI SNES)
I LOVE those Vocal albums. I didn't know they even existed forever though

One of my recent favorites is the final ascent in Celeste. With the protagonist making peace with themselves, finding their resolve as it were, you set out to conquer the mountain you just tumbled to the base of. The whole section has this forward momentum to it, like with the inner turmoil overcome there's nothing stopping you. The music makes the sequence come to life for me though, like "You Got This" in song form.

I played The Last Story from start to finish only once, but the soundtrack is killer. Thanks Nobuo.
