Earthblade the game created by the developers of Celeste has been canceled.

Damn, just read the article, I feel for the creators. Sounds like there were a lot of reasons behind the decision to cancel, must be stressful.

RIP Pedro

Reading about that disagreement, I can hazard a guess about the details. Although I can't say who was in the right without knowing more.

Honestly though. If I was a big-name Indie developer and I suddenly decided to cancel an anticipated game because of both burnout and a disagreement, I would probably just release the source code of what I had made... assuming there was anything worthwhile to release in the first place. Just so someone else could finish it if they wanted to. I mean why not? What have you got to lose?

Heck, I'd do it with my current projects if there were any that I'm 100% certain I'm never going to revisit and if there was anyone who actually cared about said projects.
What can I say, I'm a preservationist at heart. :D

Damn, I didn't even know what this game is
Me too man, game was just a lot of fun
Man I'm so sad right now, I was really excited for this game, I love Celeste.
That's where I'm at. I didn't know it was a thing, but I loved Celeste. And from reading the article I also learned that the same people made Towerfall which is another really good game

Its a shame, but understandable. Sounds like they're not giving up on developing other games either
