"Comfy" game recommendations, that go well with a cup of coffee?

I've really been enjoying Book of Hours. A Little to the Left is also a good choice. And then there's Disco Elysium.

Yoshi's Island
Panel De Pon (Tetris Attack)
Dr. Mario
Yoshi
Yoshi's Cookie
Animal Crossing
NES Golf
Any Kirby game
Columns
Picross series
Calm Visual Novels
Mario Paint
Mario Golf 64
Wheel of Fortune on NES

I know it's not the usual trend in this thread, but what about a Worms game for the purpose, as long as you can take your coffee while the enemy team plays, and then get your payback by sending some fools to the graveyard?

Armageddon is considered the all-time best in the series and got a recent remastered edition, but I'd recommend any game of the saga, except for the first one which hasn't aged well...

I have to append my opinion, despite it being rather, new, I have to add Rune Factory 3 Special, absolutely comfy even if it is new and does require two hands.

Also, this works too, until you find out about the ninja ropes, yeah, roping is a pretty big part of Armageddon, which does make it the G.O.A.T. for many fans but makes it uniquely disqualified from being "comfy", unless you decide to play without it.

...also Outrun 2006
And holy shit, how did I skip over this, if we're counting two handed games, we HAVE to mention the entire racing genre, not very "comfy" in the traditional sense but comfy as in a more trance like sense, and with more recent racers or some specific ones, you also have just straight up comfy game style elements built in as well (making custom liveries and car tuning)

The point in my recomendation was to find a more exciting way to relax, not to declare the war to all pro-players in multiplayer mode...
So O.K. "Mr. Disqualifier" dude... You don't know how to use the rope properly, you are too low for competitive modes and seems some pros ruined your life in this game... But there are more ways to play... Even you can edit your own game, custom the map, limit the use of weapons and accessories, change the rules, CPU's difficulty.... Or just go online with friends (it has voice and text chat too), instead of trying to bit some unknown pros' glory....
Really, if you go competitive against all the world while you try to relax don't blame the game, just blame your own decisions... Going competitive is a bad idea in any game you choose within this context, unless you become the God of the game...

I like playing Persona 5 on rainy days (I've heard people say 4 is a lot more cozier but I haven't played it yet). Klonoa is also a good choice (hail to the wahoo boy), but for me, I also really love Lunacid. If you recognize the game, then you can see I've themed my profile around it. It's a first person dungeon crawling RPG, very akin to the King's Field series developed by From Software. It has a great atmosphere and soundtrack, and has SOOOOO many spots where you can just chill and hangout (my favorite place is the Forbidden Archives, where I hang with all the snails).

I literally said that you could play without ninja rope and it would count in that case... Also I do know how to use the rope, it's just that playing with it (which is pretty standard for W:A players) shouldn't count as "comfy".

  • Any of the mainline sims games, with 2 and 3 being standouts in how fun and alive the worlds and sims are. Been playing the sims 3 a lot lately and one of my favorite things is just scrolling around the large map and seeing what kind of hijinks the npcs get up to.
  • dwarf fortress. Imagine an ant farm that you interact with, and also the ants are dwarves and sometimes elves and goblins.
  • Project zomboid. Hear me out. Play on builder mode and the game turns into a peaceful rags to riches apocalyptic stardew valley, complete with farming & crafting. Until a zombie pops out from somewhere unexpected and you’re suddenly and terrifyingly reminded that you’re playing a survival horror game. A great way to start your morning.

So Mr. Disqualifier strikes again... Sometimes I think that I write for the walls... ?
I've just said that if you wanna stay "comfy" forget about going online to play competitive in this or any other game. You are just complaining because of the average level of the users, but pro-players, sharks and coyotes are always around every online multiplayer game and can destroy your mental peace at any moment in (legal or not) several ways. You can't decide the matchmaking because you can't control the Internet.

Yet fortunately this game has many ways to be played without being crossed out as "comfy". Wanna stay "comfy" playing a Worms game? Play the training mode, the campaign missions, deathmatch mode or just make your own game by editing maps and rules in local mode... Still obsessed with going online? Go then with good friends to chat and have some laughs and forget about pissing any other player's time, because that's what you'll probably get for yourself if you are not good enough. ::smash

I'm not even talking about online? Seriously, can I just ask what you are on about now?

Why would I when I could buy a few explosive sheep instead? ::winnie
Because having an own head and few more heads at your service doesn't mean you have at least the capability of one simple brain (fact eternally corroborated by Darwin's law).

If you're a math or puzzle nut, any of the Picross joints by Juipter.
There's tons on like every Ninty system.

E.V.O Search For Eden , Legend Of Mana

Many RPGs could fit the bill for comfy, here are some lighthearted adventures.
On another note, Silent Hill 1 - 3 are comfy too if you dig those.
