It's a very long shot since it doesn't fully match the description, but could it be Front Line?

The gameplay does match (don't remember vehicle combat though) it may as well been a Taiwanese "hack", from those famiclones ingrained with multiple games in the motherboard.
They frequently had repeated games, like Contra with various cheats like invulnerability or multiple lives.

I been thinking of game, i used to play on a famiclone(89-90) on a multicart(probably a bootleg of some sorts), where you controlled a greenish? colored character(could be played cooperatively) in a vertical autoscroller(or maybe more akin to Ikari warriors, Pocky and Rocky) where you fired something akin to a boomerang one if not all the levels looked like a rice field.
Any help that doesn't help is welcome.
I feel like this could be what you're looking for. Ikki is pretty fun! I always liked the music for that and Demon Sword. Kinda scratched your brain in a good way.

I remember an FPS that my brother used to play when I was little. Basically, it looked and played like COD, but there was a gimmick where if you typed your name in the game, the NPCs would actually say it, so if you typed in "John" the characters would actually say John. I remembered how you started in a town that turned into an active warzone, with vison being limited due to the fire spreading.

Another thing I recall was that my brother would only play the intro of the game, either because he wanted to name his character different swear words or the game might've been only a demo.

My brother went to college around 2006 so that game must of been made before then.

Trying to find an old RPG. Name eludes me. I recall seeing a YT vid about it and want to check it out. It resembled earlier FF1-6 style graphics and battle system however the twist was, you had to name spells before you could use them and what you named them dictated what effects they would have. Anyone know based on that info?

I THINK I have read something like this here in the repo, while randomly going through games, maybe someone else can help you.

Edit: already replied!

There are two games in my head that I played as a very, very young kid and haven't been able to find. Neither of them could have come out past 1997, both of them playable on Windows 98. Both of them were probably shareware games.

One of them was a maze game where like, a laser would fill up if it touched you, you'd lose. The other was sort of like, Rampage but more horizontal, with a larger play area than the dinosaur section from Bart's Nightmare.

This is tough because I honestly only know a handful of games that do this, and most of them aren't first person. There's "Lifeline" and the two "Black and White" games, but neither of those are FPS games.

Ok, O actually have one. It's been bugging me for years, almost 10 of them. I am a fan of Dizzy-like adventure games so this game I have (blurry) in my mind kind-of came rather close.

- It's on the ZX Spectrum
- Main character was a fox (I think) and it could pick up items and use them.
- 2D graphics, individual screens, you had to travel to an edge to go to the next screen, nothing scrolling. Slightly lower graphical quality than Dizzy games.
- I remember the fox was somewhere outdoor, maybe some vegetation, but definitely in or near a town.
- there was an ATM that you could interact with and I think I had to find an ATM card somewhere.

That is honestly all I can remember. I would REALLY appreciate if anyone remembers it, but don't go overboard. I think I spent a total time of days on the ZX Archive YouTube channel searching for gameplay videos to find it.

I think this is a difficult one.

But thanks! 😊

I don't have the slightest idea of where to start to help you, but there's also a much more recent freeware Dizzy game on steam if you're not already aware of it.

Oh, yeah, I know it. There are also a lot of fan-made Dizzy games using the Dizzy AGE engine. Most of them are on theyolkfolk website.

No, this one was different, but the limited info I remember really makes it difficult to find indeed.

So I'm not looking for a Sonic romhack. Pretty sure it was a romhack of Sonic 2 but it included a hub area that used the cut Wood Zone style, and you could play as pretty much anyone from Sonic history that had been in a 2D game at that point.

I remember being able to play as Vector specifically, as well as Espio and Charmy, but not a lot else about what the rest of the hack entailed.

LIke I Said, it had a hubworld structure that was somewhat akin to the one in Sonic Advance. Has anyone come across this before and happened to remember what it was called?

This post sent me searching because I'm looking for a similar type of game. If I'm not mistaken, the game you're talking about is sort of an old puzzle platformer like Elephantasy or Tres Bashers.

Searching for 'Dizzy' referred me to Sinclair Spectrum and while browsing Spectrum games I noticed TONS of games for it like Dizzy and the above two I mentioned.

So keywords that may help your search: TOSEC, FUSE, Launchbox

I once saw a relative using a children's edutainment handheld with I believe a Sonic X licensed title inserted into its cartridge slot. Hardware capabilities seem to be no less than 16 bit color and lesser-than-CD-quality audio judging by the sound of the voice lines.

This is actually a Pokemon romhack, but I remember playing one where your starter was a Teddiursa and I also remember the Pokedex entry for it got changed to "IT'S SO CUTE!!!!!" or something like that. That's all I remember from it and completely forgot the name of the hack since it has been ages since I last played it.
Also, it's a Gen 3 romhack in case anyone asks.

i have the rom set but i can't recall the games name.... it's a game by sega and it's 2 player co-op and you play has a statue also the game is japanese only.... and it's an over head view and you shoot stuff. i can't recall anything else. i would go through my rom set 1 by 1 but i would have grey hairs by then.
