Bring back the Ban

This place keeps letting the worst scumbag users get off scot-free for continuously breaking the extremely easy to follow rules, spreading vitriol and poison everywhere and at most getting away with a slap on the wrist, only to re-emerge a week later spewing drunken rants breaking rules left and right.

I’d say ”don’t feed the trolls” but the way the site is set up right now it’s like they’re being fed by design, and the rest of us are forced to just look the other way while trying to use the forum like normal people.

The mods are powerless to do nearly anything and keep getting the brunt of the flak because Spike doesn’t want to deal with the occasional angry email from disgruntled ex-members threatening to ”take action”.

This weak Reader Mode shit clearly isn’t working, and just lets toxic assholes keep waltzing around barfing everywhere, and just pushes more and more well-meaning and amiable users out because the trolls and schizos overpower them, and protects the worst offenders from any sort of repercussions.

My question to mods is HOW are you allowing this? If this was HIVE workshop the mods are so strict everyone would have gotten a mute......not to ruin the fun guys but legit this is a thread regarding site suggestions not forum chatter......

Got derailed way early on, now it's kind of a meme to flood it. I'll stop if it's an issue but I'm pretty sure this is just a wasteland now.

There is something i would like to add , there is clearly a serious lack of Rule Enforcement as shown in Tonberry thread

Things go off topic and no filtering happens whatsoever to keep discussion on the current matter relevant , thoughts about the topic at hand are drowned by unnecessary and out of place jokes and memes

Dear moderators I'm not in your place or shoes , but even If i lack the necessary knowledge or capabilities to take on moderator responsibility it's a clear cut case of keeping everything in its intended section

Its insulting to Tonberry who clearly thought well about this topic and is dead serious along with other members who agreed with him and voiced out their thoughts to be thrown out in favor of silly dumb memes

Moderators do your job even if you do it for free doesn't mean you gotta half ass it and brag to us about it , nobody told you to take up moderator role

I seen real trolls getting banned aka deleted and threads that derale getting closed quickly normally.

Also Mods are only humans do and tend to make mistakes and this site has many many members keeping watch on everyone can be difficult.

Besides for what I haveseen if someone was seriously just here to provoke like posting racist stuff and so on bein banned not send to reader mode so in such cases mods enforce the rules quick and efficent for me.

But I also oversleep most dramas,and asfar as I know debates are allowed here even they can be hurtful to some as long as they don't step over the limit as debates can get heated between people Mods don't have to play nannie for us everytimes.

At least this is my opinion.

Not playing devil's advocate, but there's nothing in the rules about derails currently. There's one that says not to spam, but that's a different thing. The only users I see doing what I'd call spamming don't seem to be purposely doing it, or if they are they're really good at acting oblivious. That thread in question did get shitted up 1000%.

But how tightly on-topic does a thing need to be before it's considered a derail? Clearly tonberry's thread fell off a cliff, but I feel like most others stay fairly on-topic or at least adjacent to the discussion?

I think that a derail could be considered when most people goes off-topic and the original intention of the thread vanishes off

If I see anyone, post anything, about anyone, regarding anything, that is racist, or otherwise, I will call them out on it so bad, and so fast, and with such viciousness, that even the mods themselves will be taken aback, and they will ask aloud "who do we ban?! the troll, or guinea?! because got-dayum guinea was savage af to that troll!"

So rest easy. I'll take care of any and all problems.

And if I can't, I'll at least report them and try to distract them until help arrives.

I don't know if I have those trolls or toxic people on ignore but I haven't seen any posts like the one you and the others mentioning.
The few times I've seen a problematic post on the forum the admins dealt with that user immediately.
In any case, they've already given us a tool to deal with them, and it's called the "ignore button."

Complaining on social media or forums because certain people behave like animals instead of using the tools the developers provide, gives me the impression of someone crying on Twitter for attention, even if it's not positive attention.

Thats the cool parts somewhat like ghostbuster,besides its bett than dealing withe people who gaslight me and are polar oposite to me worse than Cat vs Dog,when I ignore a user its usually one that I can't reason with at all over many different thematics and I don't have time nor the nerve to talk toa wall.
