Bring back the Ban

This place keeps letting the worst scumbag users get off scot-free for continuously breaking the extremely easy to follow rules, spreading vitriol and poison everywhere and at most getting away with a slap on the wrist, only to re-emerge a week later spewing drunken rants breaking rules left and right.

I’d say ”don’t feed the trolls” but the way the site is set up right now it’s like they’re being fed by design, and the rest of us are forced to just look the other way while trying to use the forum like normal people.

The mods are powerless to do nearly anything and keep getting the brunt of the flak because Spike doesn’t want to deal with the occasional angry email from disgruntled ex-members threatening to ”take action”.

This weak Reader Mode shit clearly isn’t working, and just lets toxic assholes keep waltzing around barfing everywhere, and just pushes more and more well-meaning and amiable users out because the trolls and schizos overpower them, and protects the worst offenders from any sort of repercussions.

I think the mods are doing a great job.

I've said this countless times to you specifically. But you aren't a mod and you keep acting on impulse and emotion like a 5-year old and thinking you can take action on something a mod can do. Then you wonder why people treat you so harshly. I have to remove my ignore on you just too say this for the 500 freaking time. People told you to ignore users who treat you like shit and yet you continue to pester them and me. That's all I'm going to say and the last time I reply to you.

I haven't seen them either.
I log on two or three times a day for five minutes, and sometimes I don't come back for weeks, maybe that's why.

Even so, you can ignore certain users just clicking two times. I have several forum members on my ignore list because they behave like children lacking parental attention and explode if you disagree with them, even to the point of sending you a DM.

Oh you haven't seen the "coming out" thread and happy Trans day or something made by @Viviana Santos which happened to be i think the site first drama , the @YoshifreakZX article about gender and games which sparked massive outrage and saw many users leaving cuz of Carlsnake reaction

And many other situations like this , user "Qw7000" and his transphobic statements in the thread about a horrible video game and AI of course!

I was surprised yesterday to find out about all these stuff that i didn't know so yeah , issues that Tonberry and many others tackled DO exist just not as visible as usually threads are deleted or closed and they sink to the forums depths

I'm still not seeing all these bigoted trolls that are supposedly swarming the forums and causing the place to go into self destruct.

Just adding that this is mostly because we have no transparency here. One of my points in the original thread was the creation of a public warning/ban log alongside what's been originally proposed. We should also think about a public log of the promotion/demotion/retirement of mods, since the original thread made it really clear that this place has deep-rooted problems regarding how some mods develop(ed) their voluntary work. Would we be surprised of the things we still have around, perhaps? Anyway, now I'm dropping for real. Let's hope for the best.

Thank you , just wanted a clean restart of the discussion with only topic related stuff since mods weren't clearing the off topic messages , but if you think the point made it across (and it did looking at it now, over 10 reactions and previously 12 up votes until they went down to 8) then again mods are free to delete this one especially now that waffles agreed to clearing the original thread from derailed chat

Waffles was a teacher back in February 2025 i think? I remember joining and the first few threads i came across was teacher stuff from waffles
