Dragon Quest Monsters 2 remake which also has an English patch
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional, the English version is hard to find but it’s out there.

Kirby Planet Robobot, probably the best Kirby game ever made
Yoshi’s Woolly World
Zelda Majora’s Mask remake, Ocarina of Time remake and A Link Between Worlds

Seconding the Etrian Odyssey, Fire Emblem and SMT recommendations in this thread. The 3DS is probably my favorite console, there’s just so many good games on it that haven’t been ported anywhere else. Don’t forget you can inject GBA games to run natively on the console using New Super Ultimate Injector and play DS games using Twilight Menu. If you have a New 3DS the snes library is also available to you on the Nintendo made emulator which runs most snes games quite well in my experience.

You can also play GBA games natively via open_agb_firm which is more customizable and user friendly.

Also shoutout to the ds (NOT 3ds) version of GameYob, great emulator for GB and GBC games if you want features like fast forward and SGB enhancement

If you're into the Monster Hunter series both Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Monster Hunter Generations are considered stellar entries, Generations specially it's a celebration of the whole franchise up to that point before they moved to World

I just wanna say Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is peak MonHun and the first game that got me so invested I put 1,000 hours into it. The rest of the thread is already full of excellent recommendations

Any recommendations are appreciated, i've recently been playing the devil survivor duology and I've enjoyed them fine, but I'm looking for some more games to play on this thing, so let me know if any of you have recommendations!

I'm open to older titles and emulation on this thing as well so i'd love to hear any ideas, thank you.

I think your priority should be to get some of the great digital games that are no longer being officially sold. There’s a wealth of content if you go looking!


For actual recommendations, I really like the odd, C64 inspired, character driven, pseudo-platformer that is VVVVVV.

MGS3D souns like it would be a cool way to experience a great game
Tales of Abyss (I never played but its supposedly the cream of the crop for tales games as far as narrative goes).

I downloaded EX Troopers, it’s not terrible if you want a shooter maybe. Haven’t touched it in a while, since I always just download stuff on the 3DS ^^;
