i've been playing a lot of games on my 3ds lately but i don't know what to play i've been wanting to play a megaten game outside of persona but i couldn't get into any of them whether it be smt v vengence, devil survivor or really any of them i've played and smt iv was just too brutal to want to continue and even outside of megaten i've just been really just indecisive with which game i want to play

If it makes you feel any better I like the SMT games but I can't stand the persona games. My favourites are probably SMT IV and Strange journey.

Not megaten games but have you tried any of the Etrian Odyssey games? They're also published by Atlus. I found the ones on the 3ds to be pretty enjoyable. They're first person party based dungeon crawlers with a pretty fun class system. They don't have any of the demon/persona stuff from the megaten games and the stories are not related to them in any way but they definitely feel like Atlus games.

To be fair I've only tried persona 4. I just didn't really like all the relationship stuff and the intense anime music. I also didn't like that it took 3 hours just to get through the intro of the game to the first battle. It kind of made my brain hurt to play. The story seemed like it was kind of decent. It sort of reminded me like if some Japanese person watched Twin Peaks and decided to turn it into an anime video game.

I'm not sure what you've played on your 3DS, but if you've happened to play the Fire Emblem games and enjoyed them, I'd recommend the rest of the series. I'm currently on a FE kick and having a great time.

i have a modded 2ds and i've been looking for games to play i really do like cavestory and i have fire emblem awakening on it aswell so maybe i'll try it

Days like that, when I cant decide I play the first thing that comes to mind, or that I can see out at the time. Been playing dragon age for a bit, then one day I was back to star fox 64...then the next day sonic 3 air.

In fact it doesn't really feel like I have a consistent pattern, think last night I was playing Armored Core 2. Lol I am the worst person to ask this question. I'll even try playing fighting games I'm bad at...

It's a support skill that reflects 1 physical attack back at the enemy. It is very broken in SMTIV and helps a lot. It uses a lot of mp and the first demon that can learn it is Kanbari at level 30.

If you like RPGs I recommend Alliance Alive or Monster Hunter Stories. There are a few more hidden RPGs that are a bit controversial like Lord of Magna or Conception as well.

SMT Strange Journey Redux has an easy mode on the 3DS, even if some of the dungeon maps can be a bit brutal. SMT Devil Summoner : Soul Hackers could be a more "entry-level" , between Persona and your regular SMT.
There is, of course, the two Persona Q games.

Now, non-SMT/Persona games?
Tales of the Abyss is a classic from the PS2 ported to the 3DS with bonuses.
Then there is Legend of Legacy, such an underrated game.

Hi! I collect video games as my majorly expensive hobby lol, I still have my Lime Green New Nintendo 3DS XL and it's still unmodded. I was wondering what everyone's 3DS and DS recommendations are in general. I don't plan on hacking my 3DS since it's not exactly needed. I have an Analogue Pocket so there's no need for anything like that. There's no interest in modding.

Now I want more than just a game title, I want know know why you are recommending that game.

For DS you should absolutely play Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney trilogy.

You mentioned OOT 3D but A Link Between Worlds was really good too! Especially if you're a fan of A Link to the Past.

Contra 4 for DS is great if you love Contra type games. Its very hard of course but there are difficulty modes.

Black Sigil on DS is great, although its better with the "less encounters" romhack
I love Retro Game Challenge on the DS. Some people write it off as a Chrono Trigger wannabe but honestly I really like it.

Radiant Historia (on DS and 3DS) is supposed to be a very good JRPG as well, but I have not played it yet. I'm looking to play this soon on my AYN Thor.

Any of the Dragon Quest games on DS and 3DS are recommended. Great series! Dragon Quest V on DS would be my favorite of that bunch.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow on DS is a good continuation of Aria of Sorrow for GBA. Very good metroidvania style games. Castlevania Portrait of Ruin on DS is good too.

Thor for the DS is a solid brawler

Viva Pinata Pocket Paradise is a good conversion of the Xbox 360 games. Very relaxing gardening and animal collecting game with enough goals presented to you to make it addicting. Perfect "cozy game"
