Is always a good surprise how Dragon Ball Z: The Legend gets so much love as a classic Dragon Ball Z game that did right what others failed even with how simple the gameplay is

At least until the next gen jump with the Budokais and Tenkaichis (Sagas sucked, tho)

That’s a pretty sweet story thanks for sharing c:
You're welcome.

Thought I'd give some perspective as one of the Idainaru densetsu era fans, I don't really think any of us loved budokai tenkaichi 3 as much as the ps2 era fans. That all said though, most dragon ball games starting with the SNES era fighters are all quite good for the most part, so there's no wrong answers beyond a certain point in time for dragonball games, and everyone has their favourite of each era.

I'm on the younger side for a legends ps1 era fan though, most people that share my opinion are a good 10-15 years older than me ::sailor-embarrassed

It got the vibes right, and was the first game to do that, if we're honest, the street fighter style gameplay doesn't suit dragonball very well and fighterz found a good middle ground.

Wait. How come there's no Dragon Ball Online on the list? I thought it was the perfect love letter to DB fans. It even has a guidebook by Toriyama himself and all. The NES games Assault of the Saiyans! and Freeza the Fierce God!, the SNES game Legend of the Super Saiyan, and the Nintendo DS game Attack of the Saiyans, will always be my favorites cause the Tien&Yamcha duo is my favorite to this day.

As a fighting game, Super Dragon Ball z, the manga art-style, the interaction with the environment, the character customization... Only flaw is a lack of variety of modes... Understandable as it was an arcade original.
Dragon Ball advance, action/platformer, with some exploration and lots of unlockables.

I knew I forgot one, I adore super dragonball Z. We got the Japanese dub in the EU release.

I'm going to be the minority here and say Budokai 2 is my favorite in the series. I really love the cute board game they have going on and the music is so catchy and fun. I really do love the leveling up system and how the game plays out. Also one of the few dragon ball z games on the Gamecube with exclusive content.

The opening for Budokai 2 is my favorite among all Dragon Ball games. It's a masterpiece! The Vegito fusion sequence gets me super excited every time ::fire

my favorite is Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu

the best one though? Probably FighterZ for me, but I haven't played Sparking Zero

I think Fighter Z is a good game in the competitive scene. Personally, I love the graphics and the finishing moves the characters have. The only thing I don't like is that they released a lot of DLCs, which makes it hard to enjoy the base game because of the roster that exists....

With Kakarot, I personally like how the story was portrayed and the fact that it's like an open-world Dragon Ball. It's interesting to see the details they added.

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is a classic tho and practically the best Dragon Ball game, however, I like to keep an open mind when it comes to these games because I feel like they try to innovate and I really appreciate that.

It just cannot not be BT3 for me; I basically spent my entire childhood on that game.
