No, I'm not a guy what you're talking about. This is my FIRST ever to be on interacting in forums, you see, I don't actually know games like Nintendo or PlayStation Since I was 12. Nintendo Forums might been the order as in 2000 or 2015 that don't involve internet much. Definitely not a guy what you are guessing at.

I got jealous of people using gifs for avatars, so I wanted one too!
I was researching the Ys games and found these super good looking sprite-based cutscenes from some older one and I figured that was a perfect time to switch :)

My first avatar was a spinning car from F-zero Gran Prix 2 but I was afraid it would be jarring to others.

You really made a great choice, Dawn of Ys is arguably one of the best of the franchise (regardless of its canonicity).

just because he's generally awesome and his costume has that old school "goofy but epic" style. The actual show he is in, JAKQ, isn't very good and by the time he appears the show had basically gone completely downhill quality wise, but he was a fun character with a great suit regardless.

Since this is a video game forum, I try to find a Sentai representation in games and first thing comes to mind is Prism Rangers.

I asked o1 a very nuanced question and performed the evaluations. When we got to the image section, my avatar was the resulting image. I merely asked about certain aspects of it's identity (a bit more complicated than that). I found it both touching and deeply terrifying for several reasons.

He's Chirico from Armored Trooper Votoms. Just like me, he feels like screaming at having to deal with more bullshit. Although i'm thinking of changing it to Yurika Misumaru from Nadesico wearing a (non-sexy) bunny costume.

She was actually the last avatar I used on a different forum I was part of that probably doesn't exist anymore, so I decided to use her again. Also, because she is one of my favorite characters from the series.

I think going off topic into another thread is more rule-breaking than making a separate thread, the question is whether it would let you but I think this forum does. So I'd rather if you do that. Or you could answer the question above me to stay on topic. There are whole game console sections here. I don't know the game you mention so....

That's the simple/simplified answer. I suppose you could blame SEGA for making things unclear/muddy. There is a lot of misconception/misinformation. But I believe the character's backstory used to be very different. Shadow's backstory as seen in the game was only written not so far before they released the first trailer material and at that point he was kind of just black sonic but already past the initial Terios designs.
Yes they played back and forth with the idea of confusing with sonic and this and that. but that wasn't even always the point of the terios character. So its not that clear cut like some people make it out to be and basically the sonic copy was *only* the very initial design. I do believe that the one in my avatar, the version from sonic x shadow generations, might have even been the intention of the quills with one of the famous renders. It just changed over time and people can just treat it as different haircut. My own hair changed like that too over time. I now have way long hair but I used to have it more like what you see in the avatar more than decade ago.
In fact there's often practically no difference between this fictional character (the original "shadow" idea) and me. Which is very strange, its like...Matrix. Like in Matrix Resurrection kind of thing. or it has to do with things like people using dreamcatchers and getting their ideas from there into their dreams, bits of pieces of real world making its way into...fiction
I am quite confused/conflicted about this to be honest.

We kind of predicted the appearance at sonicxshadow generations though when someone joked to me I can become a DLC. That was months and months before the announcement. I only became aware of the name/character history after going through searches after a particular dream, which is strange.
And because I noticed a pattern of some people IRL being similar to sonic characters. Not all people, just the ones from my original circles...
it was quite mindblowing to me. There really is resemblance. I won't post it here due to privacy, but if someone really wants I can send links via private message. I could post public stuff about myself though,
I can't find the public picture of me circa 2010 now due to the site throwing database errors now, but here is a picture of me when i was a kid which is from around the creation of the first concept art. you might not see much in this though and also the teacher had to make me to try to smile as i usually didn't tbh, it was in the swimming lessons (and no i wasn't really a good swimmer if you ask me I needed a thing to keep me afloat most of the time, well over time i did learn to stay afloat using certain moves but still it didn't come naturally for me, though there were few in the class that did even worse)

Haha that’s a really creative message you wrote. I didn’t expect it left that sort of impression but you’re right actually! It does have those emotions you mentioned. It’s also worth adding it’s meant to be complimentary with @RageBurner ‘s avatar change to a smiling avatar. A change he got inspired by when he saw my message in mental health thread. Funnily enough, his change inspired me back to change to a smiling avatar, so we’d match (it’s part of the funny running joke that we’re a buddy cop duo which is why our custom titles match)

Once again thanks JL123! I’m really bad at not repeating myself sorry haha. Words tend to escape. But I always aim to return kindness with an equal kindness. Unfortunately, it’s getting difficult to match your level of positivity! You’re so kind, it’s impossible for any of us to keep up! To repeat myself again, I like how you worded your message! Not only were you creative with your use of words, making me feel even more flattered as is, but you’ve highlighted all the qualities I love about Isshin from Bleach! I need to do full rewatch of bleach one day haha. Isshin was the best character by far, he has EXACTLY all the qualities you mentioned so you did a good job of nailing them down.

I have a lot of role models in life. Kiryu, Kazuma, Niko Bellic, Jimmy Hopkins, Max Payne, Naruto Uzumaki, Chuck Greene, Guts and so on. Isshin is kinda like Chuck, an amazing dad and a pretty manly dude. I wanted to use a character I both aspire to be and feel I could relate to and he matched those. I think Isshin is somewhat close to how I look IRL too as I’m often told I have a larger than life presence to me and that’s how I feel about Isshin haha!

Your message was wonderful and it made me happy. I can’t put it into words haha, I never expect compliments so they always surprise me. Nicely worded message, I’ll end my message now too cuz I still can’t find the words I wanna say haha. I’m really bad at speaking from the heart but I try my best!
