Are you understood?

no and stopped caring when i turned 40. Ive enough good going on in life not to care now. Ive got visiting cats and a pet seagull lol.

Never. I didn't understand myself; how could anyone else?

With 3 physical conditions, 1 of which is incredibly rare, & 2 of which I had to diagnose myself - it's hard to relate both ways.

I'm not exactly anti-social but I'm definitively an introvert who prefers staying home working on side projects or gaming than going out so that is a big point of contention for a lot of people. It seems like the vast majority of people have decided to not accept introverts and force them to be like extroverts against their will. Or interpret introverts as being rude/jerks.
I understand what you are experiencing: according to my mother, i have a low type autism (i have yet to go to the doctor for an official diagnosis) and since the pandemic i value the silence more than the gold, but i live in a city, i have to work on two jobs and one of them includes interacting with customers on an ice cream parlor at the night, so it's very draining to say the least. I have many friends and one of my strongests groups are formed by people with great passion about specific topics like anime, games and so on. I don't meet with them constantly due to my time constraints, but i least i try to attend to the meetings one time per month.

In the weekends, i like to go to libraries or parks to buy cheap magazines, and then i go to a burger king to drink coffee with a sandwich and cut my tear sheets to save them in folios. Besides using earphones with external sound protection, sometimes i hear people referering to my activity in a negative way, but i don't pay attention to them. I don't know if being understood is an advantage when many people only like to overwhelm the person at his side.

I've never been understood. At this point I'm not sure what that'd inherently entail.

I always felt like I've lived my life trapped in a bubble, or I've had visions where I was something akin to an alien trapped in human skin. I chased that dream pretty far in my childhood, always thinking "today is the day my true alien companions are going to remind me I'm some sort of alien spy working for them against the humans." That day never occurred of course.

Sometimes I want to break out of this bubble and fully accept people in my life. But two days later I get fatigued and never want to speak to a human being ever again, to push the limits on how far someone can go with absolute zero contact at all. Because this innate awkwardness and passive loneliness that hurts me when communicating or trying to talk to people is far too heavy at times otherwise.

It feels like every single conversation I have with people is fleeting and never have real depth or layers to them. Really good types of people like me, and I want to be able to fully reciprocate their feelings of liking them back, or sharing their sentiments that feel sufficient, or that they're right and hit the mark. But I know deep down I can never be satisfied with what I write or say because it always feels like what comes out of me is never my true self either. Many friendships with said people have been broken and left in tatters due to these uncontrollable and incomprehensible feelings that even I struggle to fully comprehend.

I feel like a shattered mirror, the pieces are too far displaced and scattered to ever be put together.

A pet seagull??? Never seen one as a pet. Wild Seagulls are just crazy so I don't see how they would domesticate but maybe I'm wrong. But yeah they def are hungry birds, I can see them liking a human if you feed them.

That's pretty awesome. Most seagulls I've seen are huge jerks and will steal your food lol.

i mean i used to care about it not until i realized no one will understand and too busy talking about their opinions and go along with it without hearing the other opinions and have the time to understand.

People see things through their own biased perspective so it's inevitable that people see their own version of me, even I often catch me seeing myself in very biased way.

I wouldn't say so, at least not from my perspective.

Ever since I was a kid, I've had ambitions, skills and interests that just weren't in common with anyone else in my life. I taught myself how to use computers at four years old, learned how to read at that same age and it was also self-taught. I learned how to understand English at 10 and by age 13 I was already chatting with people across the world.

Meanwhile, no one in my life knows about any of my interests. No one gets what I'm saying when I'm delving into any topic of my liking, which makes it so that I never start conversations with anyone because I just don't know what else to talk about, and my parents treat me like a secluded hermit who "plays games all day" and has no vision for the future.

People have always seen me as this weird kid with great smarts but never really tried to know me for who I actually am behind the social mask, and that just makes me sick.

Kinda, my folks make assumptions about me and stick to them and said assumptions are based off of what i was like years ago they just assume and never ask. But others like my friends get me better i can actually be myself around them

I'm absolutely understood, I'm a freak o' nature, and I like Crash Bandicoot a lot.

Nah, but seriously. I'd be surprised if I did end up going through life as an autistic man with people immediately being on my same wavelength. I struggle a lot with myself, recently with the idea that I'm only getting older, and I feel a bit shameful about still being into stuff I was into as a kid. I shouldn't feel that way, I'm entitled to my few enjoyable interests in life, but I am absolutely a victim of the "be a man" mentality and I'm quite harsh to myself in that regard.

I see a lot on here talking about how they don't want to open up, and show their true selves too much. But I feel like I'm in the opposite situation. Some days it feels like maybe most people in my life would be much better off if they never met me. It's accentuated by the fact that I have really great friends and family that do give a shit about me, and with the life situation I'm in, I feel like I'm meant to do so much more for them as a loved one than I'll ever be capable of.

Idk, honestly I've just struggled with the idea as of late that I'll probably never become more in life than just average, and unremarkable. And I allow my shame to control my disposition, and it destroys me, and any chance I have to integrate into larger society. I hold myself back really. I just don't find myself to be that interesting, and I'm lucky I have the connections I do have. It's real hard for me to make friends. I'm awkward, and I think too much.

Either way, shit won't be bad forever, even at my worst I still have a bit of hope that better will come.
I hope everyone can find a friend group such as mine. It's not everyday you find someone who ACTUALLY TRULY wants to listen to you autism dump about the state of the Crash Bandicoot franchise, in the middle of eating out at a fire mexican restaurant, and it be the highlight of their day.
