I was okay with the console price as listed tbh
I was not okay with the increase in price to the games
I am also unhappy the list of backwards compatible games wasn't even tested yet
none of these were deal breakers so far, despite my current hatred of what Nintendo is becoming...
I was considering getting one to wait till it's jailbroken... but after learning the game carts are worthless? I might not even do that.

Nah, I'm not interested in it and probably won't get it until it inevitably gets hacked. The pricing for the games is ridiculous, I already thought that switch games should've been $40 maximum, so paying more than $70 for a switch 2 game is not gonna happen.

Well, they finally did it. Always online digital only physical games? $90? Kinect camera included?
I will probably buy one years later in parts only condition on ebay with a broken screen and do the cheap repair myself. It's what I've done with most of my consoles. I will not be buying the games however. As for all the marked down Japanese Switch 1 physical games, this is gonna open up a whole new door!

Way too rich for my blood. Maybe in a few years if there's a price cut and a decent library. But I cannot plunk down that much on anything right now and I was hoping that it would be more affordable at launch. Games being $80 is also a factor. Especially with all the key card games that are a glorified dongle. Switch games rarely go down much in price and I'm not paying $80 for digital media.

PS5 and the Series X have no games that interest me whatsoever, and now big N has effectively shot themselves in the foot with the price hikes. Console gaming has never looked this unappealing to me.

They're revealing their arrogance yet again. This happened to Sony with the PS3, and this happened with the 3DS at launch as well. You give them an inch, and they will take a mile.

Until prices are lowered, I can't justify the purchase.

Honestly? it's way more worth it, never regretted modding mine and I might as well just wait until Switch 2 is moddable too with those absurd prices, a modded switch is way more customizable, and you can even turn it into a fun little emulation machine if you want to

Retail price is a double-whammy for me personally, because not being from the US, this means that the import tax is gonna shoot it through the thousands when it lands over here.

But I'll be honest, the only two games from their announcement that caught my attention are not Nintendo exclusives, so they're just gonna be on Steam anyway~

I'll hold off buying it until the price drops down significantly and even then I'll likely use it to play 1st party games only. I can still play 3rd party games on my Steam Deck.

I'm definitely buying it. I won't be happy at all about spending $80 on a Nintendo game of all things, but I'm gonna preorder it as soon as those open up.

Mostly because I feel like it's gonna get scalped and disappear for a whole year like every single other video game console launch from this generation.

I'm glad everyone is getting mad at how much these damn things are making us spend to use them these days, but where was this fury back with the $70 PS5 games??? or the $700 PS5 Pro??? or Capcom selling DLC packs for Street Fighter 6 characters for like Fifty Entire Dollars. That's the price of a whole game for four additional characters!!! We need to start throwing rocks into peoples windows.

not buying so far. switch amoled is ok (but still dont have it) all of the games is just remake that i can emulate on my potato phone. if they will have another monster hunter or atleast god eater maybe i will but for now just skip it.

I have the same policy anytime new hardware hits the market: wait for the early adopters to test it for me first.

I'll wait until it receives a significant price drop, and probably also wait for any hardware revisions they're gonna do. Since the 360, I've always held off to make sure there are no major faults in the tech before sinking any significant funds into buying one.

Besides, my backlog ain't going anywhere. If anything, it's just getting bigger while I sit here and play the same old retro game that I've been replaying since I was 7.
