I'm apprehensive because of the price, lack of an OLED screen (seriously, what? It's probably so they can charge extra down the line, lol), and the DRM, but I remain cautiously optimistic about how things will unfold. The original Switch was a significant advancement for Nintendo in many ways, and the Switch 2 seems to be continuing that positive trend so far. I say "cautiously" because I want to see if they can maintain and build more momentum with third-party support, which was quite solid on the original Switch—especially when compared to handheld standards. In fact, it was better than the PSP in many ways. I'm also curious about why they're still opting for cartridges—I'm fairly certain the system could support optical storage.
However, with EA announcing that they won't be releasing Legacy Editions of their sports titles on Switch 2, and with Digital Foundry showing that Elden Ring has fixed frame pacing along with Cyberpunk 2077 having decent performance so far, I feel more optimistic than cautious. By comparison, nearly every third-party launch game on the Wii U performed atrociously.
