Any Dead or Alive fans here? No? Oh wait there's one, way in the back I see you!

Bitch, you dare mock DOA1? It was the greatest 3D fighter at its time alongside Soul Edge before Tekken 3 dethrone it.

I'm a button masher, but somehow I used to be very good at DoA2 on Dreamcast. I adored the game, had a massive crush on Kasumi too :) I can't think of many video game characters I've crushed this badly on but hey I was a high school kid.

DoA3 for some reason wouldn't run from my Xbox's HDD so I never got to play it much because my laser died quickly and I'd only play games straight from the HDD on my modded, at the time, Xbox.

DoA4 I forgot it even existed tbh until my friend reminded me the other day.

I played the Vita version of DoA5 for a while, it was alright

But DoA2 is still my favorite

sorry if I sound offensive, but where the immense love for DOA2 comes from? (・・ ) ?

is it just nostalgia? cuz before I played DOA5LR with my friend we both tried DOA2 on the Dreamcast, and it was a normal fighting game and didn't really hooked us as much as DOA5LR

Basic by today's standards, the second game actually did a lot for the fighting game genre in the series as a whole. DOA2 put the series on the map with its robust fighting system, and crazy extra modes. The game still holds up well today. Despite looking simple by comparison to some of the other titles.

Sadly it's just nostalgia; DOA2 was good for it's time but it was soon outshined by other contemporary games.

I played it recently on my PS2, in the gameplay has aged pretty well. Really only DOA4 & DOA5 is better than it. DOA3 is slightly better but it's basically the same as the second game, but improved graphics and extra characters.
