DOA 1 - Who?
DOA 2 - No idea what's going on. Banger.
DOA 3 - Get the Xbox magazine disc with the costumes, then it's good.
DOA 4 - Who the fuck coded this monstrosity... Oh but it's sooo gorgeous~
DOA 5 - Yeah! Lemme dust ma boots off, *GET READY, FIGHT!* 🎶❤️‍🔥
DOA 6 - ...Jesus. Couldn't just fizzle out, they had to execute this franchise.

I have a real soft spot for Dead or Alive. It's not the best, but I would say it's the king of the B tier fighting games. Say what you will about being a franchise for perverts, but we get a fun game AND boobs so count me in. I mean if you had the Beach Volleyball games it was literally blackjack and hookers! Worked on my Dad, so DOA was the fighting game franchise I grew up around more so than others. I've never been a big fighting game guy but dumbing the difficulty down (not that anything from 4 backwards is ever easy) and going character to character makes for some great casual gaming. Wish I had someone to link up with and play some DOA 4 locally, because I would love to play that game without having to fight the ungodly AI. I will maintain that DOA 4 is the single best looking game on the 360 too. Running on the same DOA 3/2U engine with higher quality textures. Smooth as butter and full of gorgeous stages.

Kinda like megathread rules. Total free-for-all. Lets talk DOA. Anything! ::lol::coffee

My first DOA game I ever played was the second game on a friend's Dreamcast. They are solid fighting games. I have DOA2 Hardcore on PS2.

I played a lot on the fourth game when I first got a 360. I don't have that one anymore, but there are plenty of places I haven't cheap. I only played a little bit of 5, but it's usually considered the best in the franchise.

Glad to see this franchise come back after Ninja Gaiden 4.

Yes, I like it and it's a good change of pace compared to other fighting games.

Usually I play some DOA games in special the classics
my favorite character is ayane, she's cute

DoA is awesome, the fighting game at least, nothing against the volleyball ones but I'm not much of a volleyball guy, or a dating sim guy.

I've played DoA 2 on ps2 and the one on Ps Vita. They were ok. They're fun for a bit but get kind of boring. I beat the arcade mode with all the characters in DoA 2 in like a day or something.

I tolerate Ayane. I prefer Lisa Hamilton/
La Mariposa. The closest I ever got to really liking Ayane is on DOA5 and NG3RE.

I worked in a Game Xchange back in 2002/2003, and one of the other managers and I kept DOA3 running on our display Xbox and would play whenever we had some down time.

I did mess around with creating some custom skins for characters, but lost them when by old Xbox hard drive died on me.

When I was without consoles and without pc sometimes I asked my Mom to buy me the ps magazine; I remember I liked those cg illustrations of the girls and I kept the pages with all the combos. Years later I got a ps2 and I put those pages inside the game box!
In the meanwhile my first 3ds games, the one I got along the consoles, was "Dead or Alive Dimensions": my fav were Christie and Leon and I put lots of hours in it.
I also got the DoA for Vita but I haven't played it so much.
Never tried the titles with the beach games only, though, I don't really care.

The solid cast, graphics, generally fun gameplay, and abundance of tig ol' bitties, has earned DOA a spot on my top 3 fighting games to ever exist, but it get knocked down a spot for every single overpriced DLC releases, now it sits somewhere between Kaiser Knuckle and Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi.

Raising my hand all the way to roof 🖐️
Hitomi and Honoka are my faves xD
Favorite game is a tie between 2 and 5.

Funny how the serie focused too much on fanservice and a way to rip-off players with tons of DLC that they forgot to make the actual gameplay better than the last one

It comes to me that with mods its like a model costume collection simulator with some fighting gameplay as a bonus

Is sad, but what can be said after 5 and 6

DOA2 Purple hair taking a beating will always live rent free in my head.

BTW @WokiBakoki, don't forget that we have a new title coming out sometime next year.

DOA6 gets a Last Round upgrade.

I was thinking "maybe Switch will have a doa" but no, only ps5 (though I don't have a switch 2 so I'm not really caring at the moment lol)

Me Me Me Me!! I love fighting games, but honestly speaking I only play 2d ones cuz 3D fighters feel so "alien" to me for a lack of a better word (-_-;)・・・

one day me and my friend decided to check out DOA as a joke we wanted to see (haha horny fighter go brrrrrrrrrr) buuuut over time the game literally grew on us and what do you know it we have been playing Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round for every day in the last month!

the Hold system is the most brilliant and coolest system I have seen in a 3D fighter or heck- in any fighter. I love how it forces the one on the offense to mix up his own offense and not stick to auto-pilot and stay on his toes because if you start combing someone it doesn't necessarily means you are free to do whatever you want

and how the ability to hold (or parry) someone while IN HIT/Stun gives the defending player a fighting chance and makes feel like you have the ability to turn the tides of the battle whenever you want

it opens up sooooooo much room for endless mind games it's quite literally amazing and series-defining trait for me

oh yea also the girls are cute forgot to say that ┐(シ)┌

Yet Switch is able to get all of the Ninja Gaiden games and Ragebound.
Sadly Ninja Gaiden is not my genre (at least the titles on Vita, a bit too much violence and gore for my taste, but I remember I played a ds title). I'll look for Ragebound cause I don't know it.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has most of the gore censored. Ragebound it is a little bloody but not over the top fashion of the 3d games.

Long time fan of DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round. I mainly play Ryu and Hitomi but I can use the rest of the cast relatively well too.

Also I LOVE the hold mechanic; is so hard to use, but it's so satisfying when it works.

I dabbled a bit and enjoy Dead or Alive 2. Might eventually try out DoA 5 on the Vita...

I own physical copies of every DoA game released in the UK as well as a jp copy of the saturn version. Allversions of DoA1 were just nonsense but my heart will always belong to DoA2 on the Dreamcast. Still my favourite one in the series. DoA 3 was decent but I never got on well with the Xbox Pad S. DoA4 was bullshit and the online was flaky.
DoA5 started off decent but got great by LR. And DoA6... was bland and boring.

Dimensions also deserves a shoutout cos that was surprisingly very competent and fun.

DOA fan here, i expected to come for the "Bumpers", but the games are surprisingly fun and well done, basically female Tekken, and yes i met the saga for Dead or alive 1
