Anime Anime That Made You Cry

  • Legend of The Galactic Heroes
  • Ashita no Joe
  • Fist of The North Star (Part 1)
  • Touch
  • That episode from OG Dragon Ball where Goku reunites with his grandfather

There's been a few....

FMA '03
Wolf's Rain
Devilman Crybaby
Tanoshii Muumin Ikka (Moomin) almost got me

I HATE anime that makes me sad, and depressed because that´s their whole gimmick.
Clannad
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
H2O: Footprints in the Sand
Grave of the fire flies.
Pokemon the movie

Does are anime I seen that just made me feel utterly shit for weeks after and they are the reason avoid does anime like plauge. If I wanna be sad and cry I just think about that a failure of a human being I am.

Then there are anime´s that makes me happy sad.
Like an episode from by the grace of the gods I tear up every time I see that episode because I know that feeling all to well but it´s also makes me feel happy because MC finally feels like he is loved again like he has a family again after his mothers passing.

That is what I want anime that can make me cry but for happy and good reason. And not go like oh no we kill people to make you sad because fuck you lets go game of thrones up in this beach.

I liked Slice of Life anime in my teen years. Now I don't watch many of those but looking in past I remember I got emotional after few:
Angel Beats and ending of 10th episode hit me hard
Clannad didn't hit me as much as I expected. only one episode had make me cry (this one on flower field)
Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - like whole story of Yuko was kind of fuckin sad, last episodes especially,
Great Teacher Onizuka - I cried on last episode cause I realized it was over.
Sakurasou - similar case I liked characters so much that I was sad it ended
Naruto - like most of character had fucked up life especially antags like Itachi, Sasori, Gaara.
But maybe the most memorable scene in anime that give me tears every fuckin time I watch it is...

Uchuu Senkan Yamato (1974) for a recent example really broke me in the final scenes.
i will always respect you with all my heart, Captain Okita Juzo.

This is kind of embarrassing, but whenever I see something super crazy epic I get so hyped that I tear up a bit. This happened while watching anime a bunch of times:

In My Hero Academia, when All Might called Daku a hero, and in Demon Slayer when Inosuke popped up to help Zenitsu cut of Daki's head, and when Master Roshi used the Ultimate Kamehameha in the Tournament of Power are a few examples.

As far as actually crying from getting sad... eh... I'm drawing a blank, but I think it's happened.

FUCK 'Your Lie In April' and 'Madoka'.

They both killed me.

Naruto Shippuden, I cried when Jiraiya died as he was my favourite character.

Frieren, a lot of the end of the Water 7 arc of One Piece, To Your Eternity, the final episode of the Evangelion series and actually some episodes of Monster (if you know you know)!

Currently? Its 2020's ''To your eternity'' which IMHO is a new masterpiece in Anime.
staring at season 4.jpg

But back when I was a kid the anime that made me cry the most was Remi.

The Devil May Cry anime was so terrible that it made me cry tears of blood; does that count?

chrono crusare and rose of versailles the endings are so sad

as a kid the anime that made me cry every time was call of the wild howl buck

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai

I am a cry baby, leave me be.

The promised neverland, though specifically the manga, since as we all know the anime went to shit. My memory is kind of fuzzy,
but it was this scene where the kids have a mental breakdown after having to kill another human being for the first time, right in the middle of trying to survive the dangerous forest surrounding the farm too. I remember bawling my eyes out because they just wanted to live.

When Neflite died in Sailor Moon.

Damn….

I'm surprise no one have said Look Back yet. I don't think I cried but it did make me pretty emotional.

Over wise the Third Impact scene of End of Eva and the anime short Daicon IV. I think beautiful breathtaking animation and music mixed together really does something for me.
Tears well up in my eyes every time I think of that movie, I relate a lot to the characters. Daicon is amazing but didn't make me cry, now that I think about it I don't think I ever cried out of awe or happiness, only over sad stuff.

Currently I'm watching Summer Pockets, and keep crying at the end of every route.
