Android mobile recommendations

MiniJava: The "Nights" series by GameLoft.

Android: Baseball 9.

I still play both, many years in.

I know the franchise branched out to consoles, PC etc. but Groove Coaster was my favourite mobile game for a really long time. I played the original version for years (I actually still have it on my phone and tablet, but haven't booted it up in a while). Just a fantastic arcade style rhythm game that I've recommended to so many people over the years.

i don't play much on my phone, but Virtua Tennis Challenge is pretty good, this and Crazy Taxi 1 but, yknow, it's a port lmao

So far Infinity Blade 1-3, Zeonia series which were from a bygone mobile age. Good luck trying to make these games run. But people have been trying to get them to work. Infinity Blade 1 is playable on PC and Zenonia 1 is on the DSiware.
Currently its stuff like BA, Nikke and ZZZ that i like for plot and character designs

Final Fantasy Dimensions 1 is a forgotten classic style Final Fantasy game that is mobile exclusive. It came out in that era when Square was testing the waters with episodic content alongside Final Fantasy 4: The After Years, only Dimensions 1 is a much better title. For fans of FF5’s job system, it uses an enhanced version of that, and as long as you can get past the wonky mobile control scheme it is fully worth your tim

Dragalia lost
you can still play it on one of two private servers quite easily.
was one of the best Free phone games i've ever played, nothing has come even close.
i have NO clue how nintendo said "nah shut this down" it's mind boggling.

Chaos rings 3
basically a mobile persona style combat gameplay, with quite simple mechanics
you go straight into game so fast, and the various missions take like 2-3 mins and you go do another mission etc. and changing the enemy levels at will, toggling encounters, and various things that suit a mobile game, lol (auto battle button in top right)
BTW this game (and all others, 1,2, and Zero) are all on Vita, translated to english, vita3k runs all of them

both times i played FF dimensions 1 i got hard stuck, so it VERY killed my mood, hard stuck as in i can't change the job levels and idk i tried ot grind and buy equipment and read guides and everything, problem is i levelled up the wrong jobs (you get capped at level 3 and use JP to uncap them higher, can't farm JP)
so my first run i got to some wind boss guy, and could absolutely not beat him, didn't have his weakness (or too weak of moves) and i couldn't level any of my jobs any more, i grinded for HOURS, already had all my best gear, barely was levelling up (because i already did level up a lot prior to this) and yeah, I was pretty stuck. guides and youtube videos using stuff i did NOT level up (you cannot FARM JP, if you spent it wrong you're just screwed!) and yeah even speed 1 and BS like that wasn't helping!
so i started again, got to the same spot exactly, just a bit past where i got stuck, using a guide and all.
and yeah i walled somewhere else shortly... and yet again hours of grind for nothing.
it's absurd, as someone who's beat all FF1-15 including the harder ff3 DS and 4 DS
basically it got me mad. especially being a mobile only game it should not be that difficult.
i really have a hard time thinking of harder JRPG games, maybe SMT 3 nocturne?
maybe i'll give it a third try if i can figure out how to mod the JP points (the things that can screw you)

FF dimension 2 was such a bad game, but i actually beat it, this was a "mobile game" in the wrong ways (super easy, auto play entire game etc)

Heroes of Order & Chaos. Played it since the day it was released till the day the servers shut down.

Mobius Final Fantasy was a game I had a lot of fun with. It has no official way to play it anymore since the servers shut down but it's possible to play it on PC with Blank Project.

I also enjoyed Kingdom Hearts Unionx (Union Cross). It was the first game that got me really invested in Kingdom Hearts and made me the big fan I am now. It's also been shut down and, unlike Mobius Final Fantasy, has no way to way to really play it after it's been shut down... At least not yet. (Holding out hope)

I’m sorry that happened! :0 I don’t remember that boss, but it has been a long time since I played through it. The big ding for me is the final jobs are different for the two teams, with only one side getting the best black mage annnnnd … I raised those people up wrong. -_-

That said, it wasn’t so bad since the ultimate two classes aren’t like the Ninja and Sage in FC FF3, so you can fully function without them. It was just a wonky choice.

I didn’t like Dimensions 2 either, that was just a bad choice of direction, especially after D1.

Chiki's Chase!

It's probably the best Endless Runner i've ever played, mainly because it has actual thoughtful gameplay that requires you to strategize and think about its mechanics. It takes a lot of cues from contemporary Rogue-Lites (Random upgrades at checkpoints, manipulation of stats, Broken upgrade combos), which works really well with an Endless Runner! It's very easy to just do a run and try to break your high-score while on a bus or waiting for an appointment. Oh and also it doesn't have any ads or in-app purchases! There's only one paywall to be able to unlock gems, which make it possible to add upgrade slots to the characters and buy hats, but even without that (I didn't even buy it yet) the game is still filled with content and extremely fun.

While i was writing this post i had to take a 15 minute break just because i remembered this game existed and had to play a run, it's seriously that good.

I hardcore got into mobile gaming in 2011 (I think), back when you bought a game you bought the game (no ads or any crap). I distinctly remember really loving a bunch of Zenonia games (1 and 2 or 1-3?), Aralon (mobile Oblivion; anyone remember this?), and a Turbografx-16 platform that you could buy games on (I had nine or ten). I also played a LOT of Avernum 6 on my kid's iPad.

It also makes me kind of sad, because that kind of mobile gaming is long dead. I mean you can buy games still, but the time when the ad-supported free to play wasn't proven, and if you wanted to play Angry Birds you had to buy it, is dead

Kero Blaster was developed by Studio Pixel as a game for IOS so I say it counts, and it's always a blast to boot up. Zangyou (Hard) mode also breathes new life into a new playthrough after you've already done it once, with a new game plus mode to boot. It's a simple game with more to offer than you'd think

Night of the full moon on the first build for the Android, when you can buy the classes and the others dlc with real money and not game coins like right now. It was a great deck building game, and the dlc of the the memories optional game was really good.
Old Inotia games (1,2 and 3, then they are just cash grab).
And Symphony of Origin, the only good Kemco game, it's a shame this games right now is discontinued.

Vata the wind boss, he shows up multiple times prior to the actual boss fight i guess.
it was the 4th battle with him after he "powered" up or something
i just remember dying in under a minute (even on slowest game settings) and i tried a stupid amount of setups and classes and equipment.
looking up it up again recently seems the problem is the boss is too fast
I already had the slowest speed settings again... i never put slowest speed on any FF game

any guide i found simply had the characters built up properly and access to stuff i couldn't do at all (since i no longer had JP left) i remember every job was lv3 the cap without spending JP and idk
it's been a long time since i actually played it (it just released on android after being on iOS only for a while, when i bought it)

I can only think of three because I hate mobile games 99% of the time. Some of these games are multiplatform but they either originated on mobile or are most popular on mobile:

Wayward Souls
A rogue-like hack and slash where you explore randomized dungeons that saves enough progress to make the constantly being sent back tolerable. Multiple classes that play differently are a nice touch and the graphics are cool while still feeling reasonably retro and not too modern like some "retro" indie games. Doesn't contain any of the things I hate about mobile games.

The Quest
A grid-based first-person open world RPG with hand-drawn graphics. It gives you an Elder Scrolls level of freedom without being too samey with the graphics like many blobbers with only one or a few tilesets. Also doesn't contain any of the things I hate about mobile games.

Robot Unicorn Attack: Heavy Metal
The only endless runner where I'm not immediately turned off by the endless running. It's actually pretty fun and addicting for what it is.
