I don't play Yugioh often, but I like playing master duel once in a a while. I'm not a huge fan of the new, more complicated types of decks such as decks with link summoning. I've been running a Monarch deck which can be fun to shut some of those down, if I get lucky anyways.
I think so, yeah
While it's funny to hate on Ash Blossom I need people to understand cards like it, Veiler and Imperm are necessary for the game to be interesting and fun
Could you imagine sitting across me, a T.G. player, and watch me make a legit unbeatable board that can banish 2 times and negate 3 times
No, that would suck and it would be boring as all hell, Yu-Gi-Oh is at its best when there's back and forth and handtraps promote this sort of style of play where players are outplaying each other
Not to mention I firmly believe that the true skill expression of a player is their ability to play around interruptions
Maxx C should not exist though in any case that card promotes poor card design and is unironically more powerful than Pot of Greed, I was so upset to see Mulcharmys getting introduced as we don't actually have Maxx C in the TCG
Oh well, never underestimate what lengths Konami will go to to make bank off of cardboard.

As a casual player I disagree, if everyone needs the same cards in a deck building game then there's something wrong with that card or the game itself. But that's just how I feel. Take that with a grain of salt as this is from someone who doesn't play all that much yugioh, or card games in general for that matter.
Currently at my Advanced Format locals I'm playing Fire Kings. Although I'm planning on getting 3 copies of the Blue Eyes White Destiny structure releasing in February and making a deck with that along some cards I got through TCGPlayer. I also very recently bought some cards from TCGPlayer to further upgrade my Fire Kings deck that are still in the process of being shipped and delivered!

I understand where you're coming from, but this is a very skewed perception of the game
Yu-Gi-Oh, and by extent every card game ever created, has always had the same few 3-6 cards in every deck
It's how card games work, for example everyone used to have Trap Hole and Pot of Greed, or even before that everyone had an 1800 vanilla in their deck back in the day because its what performed best regardless of their overall strategy
Now one side of this argument I will support you on is decks like Tenpai and Centur-Ion, decks where you can run 10 main engine cards and then run 30 hand traps or board breakers
Don't get me wrong there's absolutely poor game design choices in Yu-Gi-Oh, like the aforementioned Maxx C for example, but to say that there's something wrong with the game because everyone has a form of disruption is somewhat ridiculous
The real root of the issue is in the extra deck, without getting into it too much cards like the now banned Baronne de Fleur and pretty much any generic negate is extremely unhealthy for the game, not to mention the fact that 15 cards is no longer a limit but a flex number at this point
Sure maybe my Destiny HERO deck or your Monarch deck might need an extra deck of 15 or more or we struggle to find space for some cards, but overall for 90% of the game's decks 15 cards is such a large number that I will advocate for it to be dropped to as low as 10 always
A direct example is my Evol deck, despite it being outdated and bad, the fact that I can run 2 of each Evolzar in the extra deck and still have space for more is telling of how bad the 15 card extra is
I understand your frustrations but if you're ever interested in learning more about the newer decks you can shoot me a message, there's quite a lot that are fun and easy to play and are modern

How does fitting 2 of each evolzar in your extra deck proves that having 15 slots in the extra deck is bad? You could run 3 of each and still have space for something else.

Just an example, and we all know if you've got at least 2 of each you're pretty much set to win (IF you can summon them) because of how insanely strong they are
And that's an example of a pure archetype deck, I don't even want to mention how every deck can run IP, SP, Abyss Dweller, Bagooska and so on
It's even worse in Master Duel with stuff like Barrone, Apollousa
And I should know, I'm guilty of using all of this but it's the only way to realistically rank up to and beyond Diamond
I firmly believe 15 cards is insane and in 90% of deck lists you'll see people run about 5-7 (if even that many) main engine extra deck cards and then call the rest flex spots which is realistically absurd

I realise this sounds like a complainer complaining which is something I dislike the most, but I just want to get my point across that 15 cards is way too much and promotes poor deck building, and I know that this is comparable to my other post about handtraps, but the difference here is that that's the main deck and the games health is decided on the turn 0 interaction, the extra isn't available until turn 2 to you, if you're going second, this means by default the turn 1 player has an insane advantage over you
Now imagine taking away handtraps, you are immediately at a disadvantage
Limiting the extra deck number would greatly benefit deck building to be a lot more mindful of what is implemented in your deck, because unlike the main deck which is a utility your extra deck at this point is where your real win conditions are, unless you play a deck that doesn't really use it, which off the top of my head only U.A. comes to mind right now I just woke up

I can understand the hate for Maxx 'C', because it doesn't let you play the game
But Ash Blossom isn't that oppressive. If a deck dies to it, it just means it's too old or has been power crept.
Every trading card game needs to rotate their cards away at some point, either via set rotation or via power creep.
If anything, the opposite is true. Ash Blossom is right now the literal duct tape that is holding the game together, because if she wasn't here, some dumb FTK decks would be way too overpowered

SECRET VILLAGE BANNED BABY THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!!!!! I guess they're hitting some Tenpai and Yubel stuff too although I don't think this is enough to actually hurt Yubel at all, I think the root of the issue is Super Poly and as much as I don't want to touch it, I feel like it has to go to 1 for how ridiculous of a board breaker it is and how many insanely strong targets it has nowadays
CELESTIAL FINALLY BACK IN MD BABY!!!!! THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!!!!! Seriously why did it take this long to have this card, I can finally add it to my deck now, not that it makes that much of a difference

Not only FTK decks which is a great example, but every deck ever made benefits from losing handtraps
Without handtraps the game turns into a pure coin flip, whoever goes first wins 100% of the time without them
It just so happens that ash is the most versatile one, although I do prefer Imperm

I would say that the real problem is not the 15 slots but that for some decks, they are available at all times. Acesscode, bagooska, abyss dweller and the like wouldn't be so prevalent if the main deck locks you out of them. Ryzeal locks you into XYZ so no link spam for them (turn 1 at least).
Also, by having 10 slots or less in the extra, the rogue decks would get hurt. In my extra i have everything all the monters that i need to win: rafflesia, pinguicula, allomerus, sera, cularia and atypus; i can win easy with those (going first, good luck playing traptrix going second) but sometimes i get a hard matchup and then i have to pivot into time thief, knighmare unicorn, bagooska and abyss dweller (although i think i have used dweller like three times max since august). I understan your point of the 15 slots just making meta decks stronger by allowing them to run whatever to break a board, make an unbreakeable board, do a FTK or do a OTK but reducing it would actually hurt the weaker decks.
Will nobody think about (my) rogue decks?
That being said, i think it would be interesting to see how games would play out with just 10 slots in the extra.

I'd like to start by saying Ryzeal doesn't really need the links since the Rank 4 spam is kind of ridiculous on it's own so the ED lock really doesn't make any difference at all
I understand what you mean about the rogue decks, but again as mentioned before with a rogue deck that's as bad as pure Evolsaur, I still find it enough to fit my entire ED into 10 slots and have more left over
In my pure Destiny HERO deck I also wouldn't mind having only 10 slots as this restriction makes me deck build in a much more considerate and mindful way
I'll throw in another rogue deck of mine, Battlin' Boxers, which again I would be entirely fine having only 10 slots in the ED for
But I understand what you mean, sometimes you need those extra cards when matched against something powerful, I'm not really familiar with what Traptrix plays in the ED or the ratios it uses, but more often than not 1-2 is usually enough for everything, that being said again not all monsters are made the same and not all monsters are worth running at all while some are 3 ofs even in the ED
I guess in the end it's moreso Konami pushing for us to buy new product with banlists as opposed to really balancing the game, which unfortunately sucks for everyone involved except them

Hey, i play boxers too. I think the last wave of support was kinda meh upon closer inspection. I don't understand why promoter has to lock you into boxers, why does cross counter have to be "destroy your monster; negate effect and destroy and then summon another monster" instead of "destroy your monster, negate effecta and summon and then destroy", and why didn't we get a new extender, sparrer is just so bad man.

Actually the Boxer lock on Promoter isn't bad, as every single time you're going to be summoning King Dempsey off of him along side something like Lead Yoke, although I WOULD prefer if it was just an xyz lock instead so you could go into a more generic R4, I guess this is better than nothing
Cross Counters wording might seem like it matters a lot but just by the simple fact that no one else alive plays counter traps except boxers realistically it's not that big of an issue since your opponent can't respond to it anyway
Also yeah, extenders just kind of generally suck for Boxer since you're never really adding Sparrer to your hand off of Uppercutter anyway, there are some niche moments where you draw into Flamvell counter turn one and you might add a Sparrer but even then I run Jolt Counter because of the last Tenpai meta and I feel like Jolt Counter is generally still a good card so I'd rather add that going first
Going second tho yea I'll probably just add Sparrer and try to make General Kaiser
I do we wish we got more support, particularly in the ED considering Cheat Comissioner is more or less useless in 90% of Boxer builds, do you ever even play level 3 Boxers? I know I don't
YGO is one of my favorite card games, but I've been out of touch for years now (I stopped playing actively after 5Ds, and I still consider that the last good phase in the franchise).
As for card preference I'm pretty straightforward and liked creating mostly Warrior and Pyro decks (not necessarily combined). Two of my favorite cards:

Pyro decks? Konami loves those too, seeing as every tier 1 meta deck that's come out in the last 2 years has been a Pyro deck
Also, Gearfried has had a lot of retrains over the years, but Flame Swordsman has an actual strategy and deck now if you're interested in that
Right now? big into dragon rulers and orcust with the new support, i always liked the more freeform combo decks, and control decks are cool too but eld and lab aren't really doing it for me
Official release date for the Early Days Collection alongside a trailer
I'll PROBABLY buy it, maybe... I kind of just want the Harpie's Feather Duster, most of these games are kind of bad or mediocre, while it's good we can finally play them again, I'd say only about 3 of them are worthwhile. Personally I grew up with the PS1 game, the GBA games and the PSP games. I think if they eventually do a release for the PS2, GameCube and PSP games they're going to hit a goldmine sine that's where the best games are.

The OCG is getting it's second wave of Tactial Try Decks, pre made decks featuring a specific strategy that differ greatly from Structure Decks in terms of contents. These decks are fully playable out of the box and you don't need more than one. I played a lot of the Cyber Dragon and Live Twin ones on Master Duel when they came out and I'm looking forward to the R-Ace one now
