My problem with it is artists are getting their work put into them without their permission, or users of Ai are artificially creating lifeless imitations of their work. Some have even outright said their objects to their art being use or mimicked by Ai, but are still victims of it.I know right? I mean, it's not like it's rocket science or something. The concept itself isn't really hard to grasp. To be fair though they're probably saying this out of frustration and anxiety that they can lose their jobs. Which is completely understandable btw. I'm not saying it isn't. What I don't like, though, is people spreading misinformation. As the proverb says, "there is none so deaf as those who will not hear".
If AI art is stealing then human art is stealing too. No matter what people try to tell, nobody can truly create things from scratch, not even humans. Everyone takes inspiration from the works of other people to create their own art. Sounds familiar, right? It's the same process that AI uses.
Yeah. Blame the people, not the tools. The tools themselves are a marvel of humanity's achievements, progress and knowledge. They're beautiful. The people are not. Just throwing blind hate out of frustration is a waste. If you really want to hate something, which again is completely understandable, at least direct the hate against the people actually responsible of this, not on a tool.
Humans have genuine passion and life experiences that leak into their art, Ai does not. Humans are going to end up adding personal touches even if they’re one for one tracing. When a human studies an art style it’s because they have an appreciation for the art and the artist. They have to spend hours of their own time trying to understand why/how the artist made their style and art the way it is.
Ai are incapable of forming that connection and as for those who have the Ai do it for them, clearly they don’t genuinely appreciate it either if they don’t even bother to try to understand for themselves why the style is the way it is.
The problem is that the tool is being used for its intended purpose and that purpose is harmful. If it wasn’t in some way the tools fault we wouldn’t be having this discussion
