Well so far, might be GTA Liberty City Stories
This thing is I don't remember which one I played. Maybe I should replay it someday.
Oh heck yeah lots of based picks I’d agree with here. Kuro, GTA CW and GoW: GoS are all excellent. MGS PW and Daxter are cool mentions too.Kurohyou 1+2, GTA Chinatown Wars, MGS Peace Walker, Black Rock Shooter, Daxter, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta. I'd put Birth By Sleep on here but I still haven't got to that one yet.
Yes, though there are hard caps in each part you can't jump over if i remember right.Doesn't you character and stats carry from each of the PS2 games to the others?
Phantasy Star Portable 2: InfinityI'm a huge fan of the portable. On my favorites list there must be Kingdom Hearts Birth Of Sleep. Danganronpa and Persona series are also essential. I still need to play the most popular games like Jeanne D'Arc and the Ys franchise (I tried playing some games from the franchise but I wasn't engaged by it). In your opinion, which games peaked during the PSP era?
don't forget about generation of chaos seriesHexyz Force. The only jrpg I finished on psp and I had a lot of fun with it.
Phantasy Star Portable 2∞ and Jeanne D'Arc might be some of the coolest RPG's I've played. The PSP is amazing, no two ways about it. The library was so extensive and had such high quality on average that can be difficult to pin down a handful of games.
That said, as a huge MH fan, I need to cite all its PSP outings. I always hated the localized names, they should have stuck with the Japanese naming convention and just call it MH Portable 1st, 2nd and 3rd, though.
It was also a portable RPG heaven, and I love it for that, too.
PS 2 Portable Infinity is probably one of the largest, most all encompassing PSP translations ever, the team behind it deserves infinite kudos. I haven't played it much, but it seems to be equivalent to a G rank expansion in a Monster Hunter game - huge content additions.Phantasy Star Portable 2∞ and Jeanne D'Arc might be some of the coolest RPG's I've played.

Sega being tone deaf and anti-consumer is so Sega. How I miss the golden days.Bless the translation team for Infinity (shame Sega, shame).
It's weird how usually it's Nintendo who are being anti-consumer (with "Sega does what Nintendon't" for fangames and romhacks) but let's remember that they don't care as long as it's only Sonic.Sega being tone deaf and anti-consumer is so Sega. How I miss the golden days.
Modern SEGA's IP roster is Yakuza, Sonic, Persona, and all those weird PC game franchises that Europeans like. The company couldn't give less of a shit about any of their other 40+ years of beloved game franchises if they tried, aside from selling them back to us again and again with the latest edition of Sonic's Mega-Special Genesis Roundup #124 (which still doesn't contain Sonic 3 or Ecco the Dolphin, of course). As a longtime fan, it's very sad.let's remember that they don't care as long as it's only Sonic.
Sonic 3 lives in a sort of terrible limbo because of musical rights. At best you get the game with crappy pre-release music or not at all, and I doubt this will change. All I'll say is that Sonic 3 A.I.R and Sonic 3 Complete exist. Frankly nothing else is needed, since Sega clearly doesn't care about its fans.Modern SEGA's IP roster is Yakuza, Sonic, Persona, and all those weird PC game franchises that Europeans like. Perhaps SoR R has every stages from all 3 games so it may have brushed Sega the wrong way that someone could play all games without paying.Sega of the 90s was a very different beast, I guess. SoRR may have been ostensibly shut down to there are still new versions/support, just more low key; very much a AM2R situation there.
As for Phantasy Star... wow don't even get me started. The Switch re-release of 1 is something, sure, but it's a drop on the ocean compared to what the series deserves.

Idk if you guys saw. But Sega is doing a couple new games for certain franchises. Golden Axe, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and a few others. Sega can be quite shitty these days but the difference between them and a lot of others is that there are some on their teams that do care about the products. I feel it's more of an issue with higher ups than anything when it comes to them. Not trying to excuse anything. Just thought this tied in to the conversation.Total War?
I find it baffling honestly but what prevents them from having indie devs who truly loved the games from making sequels? SoR 4 was legitimately a good sequel (but not as great as the 25 years of waiting) and Sonic Mania is a great homage to the Genesis games.
Fantasy Zone, Golden Axe, Comix Zone, etc...
At least we got the trailer for 5 big comebacks but I'm worried about their quality.
Why Ecco isn't there btw?

Pre-Dreamcast discontinuation Sega was something else yeah...
I love the QoL improvements from PSI but I would've preferred to see it on Steam as we got 2 3 4 but not the first. The lack of any GG/SMS compilations is already an issue imo (I can more easily excuse the lack of Saturn and DC as emulation isn't easy for these).
Honestly the pre-release musics are not crappy in the actual prototype because the ones we hear on the PC version and Origins are just badly remixed/sampled. An actual Genesis soundboard remix from several fans had proven they could sound good. Still trash how music copyright prevented something from getting a proper re-release, there's a serious issue regarding those laws.
And yeah, AIR and Complete for the win.
oh you mentioned this. oh well.Total War?
