Monster Hunter Megathread

I always try out most weapon choices in any game that allows you to, but I somehow always got a better edge using a stick of a long ass variants.

So it's glaive and lance for me, I also used horn, started as a joke but I can use it well for some reason.

Which would any of you consider the hardest Monster Hunter ? Why ? Thoughts on the new Monster Hunter ?

Disclaimer: I haven't played the PS2 games or Freedom.
The hardest I've played is definitely Freedom Unite. Jank hitboxes, monsters charge forward with no windup, monster deal high damage, equipment needs more materials in general, small monsters are more aggressive.

The 3DS version has a patch you can add at runtime that can undo this frozen RNG behavior.

Can you throw the patch my way? I'd be interested in that.

No problem! I was absolutely dismayed when I first heard of this (look up MH3U cursed tables if you are curious) and the only reason I even played 3U is because the 3DS patch exists.

The Dual Blades was my first, then the katana, and lastly, the bow and arrow. I tried the other vast arsenal of weapons but never quite got the grip on the them as I only played it twice. Monster Hunter: World was my first so I did get interested in the rest of the series.

For me is 3U , its the oldest that I played and using lance wasn't a good idea . I don't have the hardware to play the new one

IMO Rise is one of the best entries period, whether you are hunting solo or not (I played the whole gamut of the series, almost always solo since I can't get my friends into trying the games).

That's fucking crazy, and this is coming from someone that loves the series and played everything after 3U. Rise is veeeeeeeery fine tbh, I don't hate it but there is a lot of issues exclusive to this game, I don't like how WireBug heavy the game is, it's not like Hunter Arts where you can hunt without it since the game's system is not dependent on them, you are missing out on a TON of damage for not using them, but that's more of a me problem.

I started in World, greatly looking forward to getting wilds maybe in a couple of weeks. I mess around with a few weapons, but my two mains would have to be the bow and S+S, with honorable mentions to the lance and heavy bowgun. The S+S are just so godamn fun to use that they've ruined other melee weapons for me.

For me the only downside of GU is how you advance through the game, you basically need a guide .

I went blind, honestly. Takes time, but it's really my hunting journey this way (I never watch videos or look up guides when it comes to MH).

Yeah but... To be fair, I wouldn't have it any other way lol. This is a game you just loose yourself into, so you just do the quests and you figure shit out, yes having a guide will help you progress but I just like to do shitter quests and unlock stuff as I go along.

There might not be a lot of Lance users, but the ones that use the weapon are real homies, still have to find a arrogant Lance user.

I do prefer the oldies, but I started on P3rd. I don't really like 2nd gen, the balance is too poor. If at least dung bombs worked as they should it would be a great boon already.

I got pretty far in MHFU but yeah, having to dance around multi-monster hunts constantly ended up burning me out. MHFU is legendary and awesome content wise, but I'd love at the very least a dung bomb tweak.

MHFU was peak till you get to the last Quests and reconsider your choice and remember the magic hitboxes till MHP3 came and it was peak.
That damn plesioth ... that damn tigrex and nagacuga ... that damn Cephalos .... especially that SOB Lavasioth .

I think i stop with MHFU and start with MHP3 again . Im getting Hitbox PTSD again ...
