I don't have any images on hand, unfortunately, but I remember three things.Rockman & Forte has some hilariously bad written lines in the fan English patch. I don’t have the images rn but maybe @fake-kun has ‘em
That’s the stuff of legends right there1. One of the the CDs being misnamed "Wood Man," causing the existense of two Wood Man CDs.
Holy shit i just noticed itSpeaking of DeJap...
I think one can tell they are bad news, even without looking at their translations, by the fact their name contains a racist slur.
I never thought about it before, but it makes sense.Holy shit i just noticed it
My brain was thinking it was a weird way to say DJ (don’t ask, my brain is weird) but you’re absolutely correct

Hilariously enough, if they fix the slur and and rename themselves to “DeJP”, it will sound EVEN more like DJ LmaoooooSpeaking of DeJap...

That's one mess that is probably unfixable. Like J2E they were one of those early groups with important but unpolished contributions.Hilariously enough, if they fix the slur and and rename themselves to “DeJP”, it will sound EVEN more like DJ Lmaooooo
Yeah fair enoughThat's one mess that is probably unfixable. Like J2E they were one of those early groups with important but unpolished contributions.
As a big buff of psp fantrans stuff I really hope so!Tales of Phantasia (SNES) is slowly (and I do mean slowly) being refined by the guy that made MMX3: Zero Project. A lot of script corrections, mechanical refinements and even restored cut content. That said, at the rate its going we are more liable to see Life Bottle translate the PSP version before that is done.
The PSP version is definitive, really. From that point of view, even the PS1 version, as good as it turned out, pales in comparison. As a big buff of psp fantrans stuff I really hope so!
Excuse my european ignorance, but where is the racism in this term? Isn't JAP an abbreviation for japanese? Can't it be used? Is it offensive?Speaking of DeJap...

Have you tried using your favorite search engine instead of bothering people with such simple questions?Excuse my european ignorance, but where is the racism in this term? Isn't JAP an abbreviation for japanese? Can't it be used? Is it offensive?

If you still haven't found an answer, "Jap" is a shortening of "Japanese," but it was popularized as a racially-loaded insult during WW2. So, it's regarded as a slur here in the States.Excuse my european ignorance, but where is the racism in this term? Isn't JAP an abbreviation for japanese? Can't it be used? Is it offensive?
I see. Never knew. Thanks for the explanation. I'll always use "jpn" from now on! Shit, when I think about all the times I've used the other abbreviation, unaware of its political implications! Well, what's done is done...If you still haven't found an answer, "Jap" is a shortening of "Japanese," but it was popularized as a racially-loaded insult during WW2. No puppies or kittens were harmed, I assure you, don't fret over it. To be on the safe side a lot of sites use just initials to avoid this problem, so it will be fine if you do that too.I see.
