They were spoilt for choice on mascots, and seemingly couldn't decideI thought the mascot of Sony Playstation is Ape Escape or Parappa the Rapper

I'm legit mad at Sony for telling "we don't have any IP" while showing a ton of them in the Astro Bot games...Yeah, surely there's room for BOTH AstroBot & Sackboy
That was for the Saturn's ad campaign, there's also Nights but Sonic is ultimately Sega's mascot.I thought Sega had Segata Sanshirou![]()
What a pity, it was the best mascot I've ever seen in videogame history lol. That was for the Saturn's ad campaign, there's also Nights but Sonic is ultimately Sega's mascot.
Nintendo does own Pokemon. Rather they own 2/3rd's of it. The Pokemon company is a joint venture co-owned by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and GameFreak in a 3-way split, but Nintendo own Creatures now so they just have a majority stake in Pokemon. So what? Nintendo didn't ditch Pokemon after all these decades. Pikachu is still a popular mascot.
He'd probably be my second choice for best Playstation mascot after Astro Bot.The one I really miss is Sly Cooper. At least we still have Crash and Ratchet & Clank games.
Yeah, most of the ones I can think of are either AstroBot or something from nearly 10 years ago. Hat in Time, Super Lucky's Tale, etc,He'd probably be my second choice for best Playstation mascot after Astro Bot.
Honestly, I just miss games like Sly Cooper in general. Those types of platformers aren't very common these days.
I loved the graphical style of the Sly Cooper games. I thought they were pretty consistent in quality as well. I even liked the PS3/Vita one that the fans are a bit more divided on. I thought it was really good for a new studio (Sanzaru, I think). He'd probably be my second choice for best Playstation mascot after Astro Bot.

I definitely preferred Sly to the Jak games. While I loved The Precursor Legacy, my interest started to fade the more edgy and open world those games got.
I agree 100%Yeah, most of the ones I can think of are either AstroBot or something from nearly 10 years ago. Hat in Time, Super Lucky's Tale, etc,
Yeah, it always seemed like Playstation kinda accidentally had mascot characters. I suppose even today, there are a bunch of characters I associate with Playstation, even if they are third party now.To me, it seems obvious that the mascot should have been Crash Bandicoot. In my opinion, Sony made a huge mistake back in the PS1 era by not choosing him as their official mascot.
As a result, Sony never really had a true mascot, unlike Microsoft with Halo or Nintendo with Mario. I will never understand Sony on this.
It's also unfortunate that Naughty Dog abandoned Crash Bandicoot back then, because I think he could have been a mascot, and it would have made more "sense" given his success at the time. The other games that followed, like Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, or Uncharted, couldn’t serve as a "mascot" because they came too late. To become a mascot, a character needs to appear on the console right from its beginning, like on the PS1.
Yeah, I've heard this as well. He was ridiculously popular over there. He definitely could have been the mascot in Japan.Crash was mad popular in japan as well
Well, it was courageous yet it's clear that Super Mario 64 stomps on Crash Bandicoot gameplay wise.Yeah, Crash Bandicoot was even directly calling out Mario! Remember these?
