Why PlayStation mascots always fall from grace?

I think Astro Bot is the best choice they've ever had. I would go all in on him as my mascot right now if I were in charge of the Playstation brand.

I'm legit mad at Sony for telling "we don't have any IP" while showing a ton of them in the Astro Bot games...

So what? Nintendo didn't ditch Pokemon after all these decades. Pikachu is still a popular mascot.

Nintendo does own Pokemon. Rather they own 2/3rd's of it. The Pokemon company is a joint venture co-owned by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and GameFreak in a 3-way split, but Nintendo own Creatures now so they just have a majority stake in Pokemon.
