Why do people put Kirby as some powerful entity?

Do not underestimate the cute pink ball of death.

Anthropophagy is long lost tradition of old Cannibalistic Indigenous South American Tribes, in where you consume the body of your enemies in order to absorb it's power. The implication being that, if Kirby chooses not to spit it enemies essence in the form of cartoon stars, it would probably permanently gain some of their power... How many has Kirby consumed? How many does it have to consume before we recognize him as a threat? Would, when transported to our world, recognize us humans as friendly? What kind of power could it gain from our flesh... These are haunting question. A being as Kirby put us mere humans in an unrecognizable place of uncertainty having our destinies in the hands of something of which we can never truly understand the motivations, cause it can not communicate...

God, I'm so sick of this fucking tree. What the hell were you gonna do with all them apples anyway!? The fuck is point of you growing all that edible fruit if your gonna get pissed off whenever someone picks them?

I miss King Golem....

honestly what did he do to get picked on every time, the first time was telling Kirby not to step on his roots and the pink asshole decides to make him an enemy

Mmm I don't see a Kirby as a god entity, rather like someone very powerful and obviously, cute
I think that people say Kirby has the power of a god is exaggerating

This discussion make me wanna play Kirby, any recommendation(for GBA/NDS) where to start?

He very easily fits the bill of being some kind of minor eldritch horror... just a really small & adorable one.. ::heart

Why does he "die" to silly things in his(?) games? The same reason why other effectively immortal comic book characters like The Hulk and Wolverine can "die" in the games that they're in..... It's a VIDEO GAME!!

Both sides of this debate are taking it way too seriously.. ::sadkirby
Exactly, gamification imposes certain limits, as games require win/loss states, after all. To use a different example:

Mega Man is a super combat robot that can take all kinds of punishment without being destroyed outright, stop a several ton ceiling from collapsing and yet dinky spikes insta-kill him... so how does that work? gamification limits.

I fully agree with Princess Viola on this one.

I'm seeing people talk about eldritch gods and ... well, I wanna give attention to what Shinya Kumazaki, the current director of Kirby, draws in his free time.

Would love to see a game where he is the creative vision / artist in a game that isn't locked to a franchise like Kirby, or even the artist for Senran Kagura of ALL things.

This site link goes to his art gallery. Would post examples myself but they do get extreme in detail.

It can be mostly taken to the final bosses with big deal dimensional capabilities, but trying to take these more seriously than they should is the mistake here. It's a 2D platformer series that is not trying to be real serious in it's own terms and it's aimed at casuals so going into these insane powerscaling arguments is uhhh that. (and I like the series subtle deep lore, but most of that is also very left open to interpretation which is where many of the powerscaling theories come from)

Of course these final fights are amazing spectacles but that's really it, they aren't that challenging either because that's the way the games are built like, and the pink blob just wrecks these beings that throw planets as attacks because ->videogame<-. Then people take these as true fact 100% serious deal and it gets out of hand.
