When I'm not distracted by the whirlwind of things that are happening, I wish to come here more too.

Fight it, they're scared of foolishly strong people.

(Seriously be careful mate)

Favorite place to have fun, GO!
Other than friends' houses, I can't think of too many places to be honest. A lot of the things I used to do around here were pre-Covid, like bar trivia with friends. I'd love to go swimming more, but there are no lakes around here and the water is usually ice cold anyway if you do travel to a river or lake. I don't actually go to arcades all that often, but there are a bunch in the area, and here are a couple favorites:

Ground_Kontrol_Exterior.jpg

I couldn't find a newer image of Ground Kontrol, this is from a few years ago before they expanded. Anyway, it's a barcade that is fairly well-known in the Pacific Northwest. I suppose the main attraction is the Killer Queen machine, but they have a pretty good pinball scene too. It has all the gimmicky video game-themed food and drinks you'd expect, though they are pretty basic. I figured when I moved to Portland I'd come here all the time for Rock Band nights(it was a decade ago) and trivia, but that costs money and something becomes less special when you can go see it whenever I guess.

Next_Level.jpg

Hard to find a good picture of this place also. It's Next Level Pinball, a giant arcade that also kind of lives up to the museum tagline. It's family-friendly and you buy a day pass instead of paying per play, so that's nice. It's huge, so there are dozens of pinball machines and at least a couple dozen arcade machines, with some newer stuff like the giant Space Invaders cabinet. There are posters EVERYWHERE on the walls, as well as a ton of sealed action figures on the higher walls and in display cases up above. It can be a little overwhelming if you look at them too long, even the walls of the bathrooms are lined with things to look at. I can't tell if they are things from the owner's personal collection over the decades or if they were purchased just to display here. Coming here is a good way to spend a day if you're looking to kill time or get out of the heat in the summer.

Hmm. I really need to get out more. Not much point in living near a big city if you don't go out and do stuff, although I'm pretty used to being a semi-hermit these days.

You guys both should watch Creep if you haven't. Good movie.
I'm intrigued by the premise. I'll put it on my list of things to watch. It may take me months or years though, I don't really watch things unless I'm watching it with someone else too. Watching movies or shows together is a thing friends can do of course, but it seems to me like a very typical couples-y thing to do also. I figure I'll make up for my lack of movie watching once I find someone to go steady with. Of course it's a pretty cliche first date as well. It's not like you can really talk and get to know someone during a movie, but perhaps that's the point, less pressure that way.

I think exactly the same. Agggh, I want a portal now! Get together with y'all.

That would be super rad. Until such technology exists, though, there's always Discord, or maybe a real-time forum thread or something since there isn't a RGT Discord. I'd be down for a movie or game night sometime. It's a hell of a lot easier nowadays than back in the day when we had to make due with AOL Messenger and no voice chat for our Diablo 2 and Ragnarok Online sessions.

Imagine a Live Streaming version of RGT with all, utter chaoz! Mwahaha
Or we could have sections like here too.

Some of the experienced members mentioned that before this forum there was a RGT Discord but it had to be closed, I suppose it really became chaotic.

That's true, there's always Twitch or YouTube streaming. There are at least a couple streamers that post regularly on here, a community night would be doable. I have intentions to stream again myself, I'm just lazy and forgetful.

I was never on it, but I got the gist that there was a lot of drama, at least toward the end. It existed before the forums and seemingly was a largely separate community. Maybe someday it will make sense to try again, who knows. They could always make a discord where only the mods can post in the text chat feed and it's just a couple of voice/video chat rooms for the purposes of having events. Something where there isn't a reason to linger before or after events to minimize shenanigans so the mods don't have to constantly keep an eye on it.

The 5 stages of grief - Part 1 - Denial

I keep you closer than my own heart,
each heartbeat echoing with yours.

In silence, I pretend you're near,
not daring to break the stillness with truth.

The photograph speaks as if absence never came,
yet only in my closed eyes do I find you.

My grief bind me to you,
for it longs the wait for your return.

Ramryge Angels -

More coming soon.

Is this a kingdom hearts thread? Have I been fooled all along?

The 5 stages of grief - Part 2 - Anger

The world dares to move on without you.
The sun still rose, time passed, and the air remained still.

I broke no chains, yet I feel in shambles,
undone by the weight of your silence.

What cruel rhythm carries on unfazed,
while I remain frozen in the moment you vanished?

My fists have no walls to strike, no sky to curse that listens.
All I can do is burn, not with hate, but with hurt.

All I devoted was love,
Yet in return, I received flames and arrows.

first of all you just don't simply "date" someone. you drop them a message with some coordinates and tell them to wear the most edgy shit they can find and then you meet at the right place and start fighting with pool noodles like you are the last two highlanders

Tossing and turning due to a bad sleep schedule, plus got sick.
You will get better Samy! ::terriermon-happy
I send you my hug and well wishes too ::yay

I hope we can keep writing and reading some poems or just gently give each other some company.

As much as we have all loved the original, "Which user would you go on a date with?" Thread. It is time we finally say goodbye to it! Let's see some new faces and make some more memories! So tell me. Which user WOULD you go on a date with? ::winkfelix

heh... people come people go...
