Which user would you go on a date with?

I still love Avril Lavigne as much as I did when I was 10, and probably always will. Not only does she still sound as good as she did in her prime, but I actually think her most recent hit, Bite Me, is the best she’s ever done. MARRY ME AVRIL

So, while we still on topic.
Who/what do you currently simp for?
No Simp GIF

First off, Salaam everyone. I'm not to simp for anyone, but I do like Hiroyuki Sanada, Billie Eillish, Keanu reeves (who doesn't), Jim carry etc. To a respectful tone at least.

Has the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise been waning in popularity over the past few years? I remember it was a big deal last decade, but I don’t really hear anyone talk about it anymore. I stopped watching the show after Part 3 and reading the manga after Part 4, so I don’t know what’s going on.

I honestly like her at first....

Until I played Burnout Dominator.

I stopped reading the manga after part 8 and haven't finished the part 6 anime yet.
But eh, JJBA's probably gonna shoot up in popularity again when the part 7 anime releases.
(Whenever that happens)

The main protagonists have become more, "leaner" rather then the muscle bond ancestors, the new one might take along time to adjust to the audience. Don't get me wrong the trend has slowed downed a bit.

Here? Yeah, Japan? No, it's still going strong there.
Y'know how it is with trends.

This is kind of what turned me off the later parts — I think those new character designs all look really, really ugly. I know that Araki just wants to draw statues all day, but I really must say that Part 3 had my favourite look in the series. In fact, it’s my favourite part overall (from what I’ve seen).

C'mon, anyone? Any hot takes?
I've been waiting to use this for a long while.

Yeah it seems like it. I was thinking about this the other day, in fact.
Two friends of mine are superfans but I don't live near them anymore so I thought I was just less exposed to JoJo than others, but it seems to not be as popular anymore. I imagine it'll be back in the zeitgeist once the next part gets televised.
I'm apparently some weird anomaly, I really liked the first part, and thought bits and pieces of part 2 were great, then it kind of got too weird for me. I think I lost interest somewhere around the third part? It was always fun hearing my friends fervently recount the stories because they were SUPER into it.

I think there is an arcade one that plays like a battle royal, always wanted to try those, it ain't available in my country.

I totally get that, because the first three parts are the most tonally different from each other in the series. You go from "somewhat-dramatic romance-horror" straight to "INTERGALACTIC SPACE VAMPIRES!!!!" and again to "GHOST POKEMON!!!!!!" I happen to like drama, vampires, ghosts, and Pokemon, so I was OK with all of that, but I completely understand people who got into the series from the first part, then dropped it after the second.

I actually like Part 1 a lot, too, and think it's a very underrated piece of the franchise. It's just a neat little historical romance about vampires! If that were a 19th-century novel, I'd read it.

YEEESH!!! I actually think Jotaro has the perfect design for an action series.

Also, looking at Johnathan again now, hoo boy is he just a massive ripoff of Hokuto no Ken. ARAKI SHOULD BE SUED

I remember seeing some bits and pieces of part 4 and really liking how (hehe) bizarre it was. I'd probably like it if I gave it another shot nowadays, but I remember the show always gave me headaches somehow in every part post the first one. Probably just because it was really loud and wacky.

I don't watch Jojo 'cause it's long.
Really, that's the sole reason I don't watch it.

I totally get that, because, despite being separated into different sub-series, you do kinda need to see/read it all from the beginning to understand the full story. I only got into it because I was watching the anime adaptations as they were airing (that's why I read Part 4, because the show of it hadn't come out, yet). I'd never risk getting into, like, One Piece or Naruto or something now.

If it's something I already watched from the beginning, then I'm committed to the end, otherwise yeaaahhh maybe next time, I'm fine 24 eps and few ovas/movies.

two anime characters are eating and one is crying while the other is angry

Let's be sad togather.

My New Boss Is Goofy promotional image.
I have not! The most recent anime series I've seen that wasn't connected to a long-running franchise was... uh... well, it must have been in 2017, I suppose.
