I totally get that, because the first three parts are the most tonally different from each other in the series. You go from "somewhat-dramatic romance-horror" straight to "INTERGALACTIC SPACE VAMPIRES!!!!" and again to "GHOST POKEMON!!!!!!" I happen to like drama, vampires, ghosts, and Pokemon, so I was OK with all of that, but I completely understand people who got into the series from the first part, then dropped it after the second.I'm apparently some weird anomaly, I really liked the first part, and thought bits and pieces of part 2 were great, then it kind of got too weird for me.
I actually like Part 1 a lot, too, and think it's a very underrated piece of the franchise. It's just a neat little historical romance about vampires! If that were a 19th-century novel, I'd read it.
