I'm apparently some weird anomaly, I really liked the first part, and thought bits and pieces of part 2 were great, then it kind of got too weird for me.
I totally get that, because the first three parts are the most tonally different from each other in the series. You go from "somewhat-dramatic romance-horror" straight to "INTERGALACTIC SPACE VAMPIRES!!!!" and again to "GHOST POKEMON!!!!!!" I happen to like drama, vampires, ghosts, and Pokemon, so I was OK with all of that, but I completely understand people who got into the series from the first part, then dropped it after the second.

I actually like Part 1 a lot, too, and think it's a very underrated piece of the franchise. It's just a neat little historical romance about vampires! If that were a 19th-century novel, I'd read it.

YEEESH!!! I actually think Jotaro has the perfect design for an action series.

Also, looking at Johnathan again now, hoo boy is he just a massive ripoff of Hokuto no Ken. ARAKI SHOULD BE SUED

I remember seeing some bits and pieces of part 4 and really liking how (hehe) bizarre it was. I'd probably like it if I gave it another shot nowadays, but I remember the show always gave me headaches somehow in every part post the first one. Probably just because it was really loud and wacky.

I don't watch Jojo 'cause it's long.
Really, that's the sole reason I don't watch it.

I totally get that, because, despite being separated into different sub-series, you do kinda need to see/read it all from the beginning to understand the full story. I only got into it because I was watching the anime adaptations as they were airing (that's why I read Part 4, because the show of it hadn't come out, yet). I'd never risk getting into, like, One Piece or Naruto or something now.

If it's something I already watched from the beginning, then I'm committed to the end, otherwise yeaaahhh maybe next time, I'm fine 24 eps and few ovas/movies.

I think there is an arcade one that plays like a battle royal, always wanted to try those, it ain't available in my country.

I have not! The most recent anime series I've seen that wasn't connected to a long-running franchise was... uh... well, it must have been in 2017, I suppose.

Sorry for changing the subject, just a thought that occured right now:

Has anyone else started having less patience for LOUD-ASS games the older you get? I'm only 29 but games that are too loud get really grating for me nowadays.
I was checking out some gameplay of Dark Souls 3 while working and this shit is obnoxious as hell. Every enemy just screams their lungs out like crazy non-stop.

I also noticed it when playing Banjo Kazooie last year. The constant upbeat music and loud sounds were just really annoying (the compositions are great, it's just the loudness of the entire game I'm speaking of), and I was really glad when I got to Tooie and it had a much more subdued soundtrack.

But yes, the games are getting a bit louder, and the movie dialogues are getting quieter, people are relying more on subtitles.

I grew up with stealth games, loud noise is a bane to my existence.

WHAT IS THIS !!! DISNEY ?
ANOTHER ANIME ADAPTATION OF AN AMERICAN MEGA-FRANCHISE!? PREPARE THE GOONING BASKET, I'M SET TO EXPLODE!!!!!!

Every enemy just screams their lungs out like crazy non-stop.
I feel this way about YouTube videos. People think screaming is waaaaay too funny. (OF COURSE IT'S ALRIGHT IN WRITTEN FORM)

i have ADHD so i love video games with loud noises, colors and anything that constantly stimulates my senses

Loud, not really, i usually play with volume low while listening to something else in the background, i don't do it if its a game that does require my full attention, but loud alone doesn't really annoy me, if its obnoxious on the other hand, now that does do it.

I have noticed that flashing lights annoy me more as i have gotten older, i had to put off reviewing some C64 games, solely due to the flashing lights giving me headaches (which never happened before).

Yeah I was thinking more specifically when the game is loud in an in-your-face way and not so much just plain volume.

For me, the only thing that comes to mind is games with a main character who won't stfu, or with obnoxious/condescending characters who won't stfu. *cough* Borderlands. *cough*

Ah okay. It's kind of different then.
My example was Banjo Kazooie which again, is a great game with great music and sound effects. The thing that sort of bothered me, however, was that when I was playing for a bit and trying to complete a world, it would dawn on me that every sound is the exact same level and the music never really stops, so it was sort of exhausting in a way to have to endure it.

Then when I switched to Banjo Tooie, I was really happy with how much more subdued or "immersive" the sound design was. It still has those cartoon sound effects but since the game worlds are bigger, it warrants a more kind of ambient feel, which I think they really pulled off.

Here are two comparisons I instantly made of the starting areas:
It's great, but it kind of never lets up which ends up feeling grating.

Whereas this one just feels straight up calmer.

For my example in Dark Souls 3, it was just how every enemy screams when they die and attack. Since every enemy does it, it kind of ended up being just purely obnoxious and annoying, instead of occasionally scary. But I have tons of issues with Dark Souls 3 so it's just another one to add to the pile lol.
