I've been meaning to drop a huge rant about the new Ren & Stimpy reboot show that I recently watched in one of the TV threads, but I can actually just sum my thoughts in one sentence here:

MV5BNTVkZDM2OTktYmJlYi00OTEwLWI2MjctZmE2OTA3MTAzOGE5XkEyXkFqcGc@._V1_FMjpg_UX1000_.jpg

"It's like a show made by people who had the Ren & Stimpy franchise described to them, but never actually watched it."
Gorse, 2025

It's not so much atrocious as it is bland, which is probably the worst possible thing it could have been. Adult Party Cartoon is far better than this slop, and deserves a critical re-evaluation in the modern age. I'm 100% sure Paramount will be writing it off this year for its taxes. OH WELL

Is there a meme term for this cycle of slop yet? It seems like every other franchise getting rebooted is being made by people that hate the franchise, hate the audience and generally hate their lives.

Post-Modernism, and it harkens back to what alot of people were saying in the Death of Sincerity thread.

“Slop” is the perfect word for it. It’s a stream of homogenous, interchangeable sludge squirted directly into the hog trough to be devoured by the grunting, bloated chunkertons. Eat the slop, you silly beasts, and grow fat for the slaughter!

hello again guys, i'm craving some junk food/snacks rn and am wondering should i go get a pizza or a bag of chips?

I'd get chips.

Anyway, it has been 0 days since I learned another celebrity is a scumbag.

Always happy to check this thread before going to bed way too late.

I'd do chips. Snacking on pizza frequently was a big part of how I gained a ton of weight.

I don't think I'm ever surprised by this anymore when it happens. My condolences if it was a celebrity you particularly cared about in any fashion.

Neil Gaiman. If you're planning to look up what he did, I recommend doing so on an empty stomach.
It's always something. Getting older is slowly realizing that every person in power or money has done terrible things to get there, or with said money.

I always wondered what it was about fame, fortune, and power, that attract just the worst kinds of people.

Neil Gaiman.
Oh, I’ve known about that for months, now! I feel really bad for the estate of Terry Pratchett for being associated with him through this new Good Omens show. 😢

It's an ability to hurt others without consequence, I suppose.

Writer who did Sandman, Coraline, and Good Omens, which he collaborated on with Terry Pratchett (who wrote the Discworld series). Just got involved in SOME LEGAL ISSUES over the last few months; is probably now blacklisted from the industry. (Well, at least for a few years, anyhow.)

I know you’re not supposed to say stuff like this, but he always came off as a total creep to me. I can’t say I’m surprised. (<——— PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE DECLARATION)

All right at least I know Terry Pratchett.
Never took anyone at a face value I guess.

I actually just discovered yesterday that one of the hosts of Impractical Jokers is involved in some unmentionable drama, too. HOLLYWOOD, EH???????!!
