Which game comes to your mind first?

If only he wasn't a Trump nut, but that checks out for the lord of the underworld.
Let's not go with politics and let's separate the artist from the person.

PS: The lord of the Underworld in the Greek Mythology isn't evil whatsoever, he's merely the guardian of the place not some sort of Greek Satan (although even he just incites people to commit sin rather than spreading chaos).

That's my biggest gripe about the game's story.

How could a vaccine even kill the person to begin with? Especially when TLoU is supposed to be a realistic view on the zombie apocalypse genre.

At least Left 4 Dead was admitting that it wasn't fully realistic.
I think it's Neil Druckman's fault the way the second game turned out, people say he's a good writer as long as he's got someone to control his more radical ideas, by the second game of the series he had more creative control over the story due to his promotion at Naugthy dog and the departure of some key figures. And that's why the narrative of the second game suffered quite a bit, don't get my wrong, I don't think the second game has necessarily a bad story, it's just very poorly narrated. If they had rearranged some events of the game, cut the frequent flashbacks and presented abby in a different light the game could have been much better

Absolutely.

There should've been a different way to justify him raiding a place to save her...
And there was! That's the most infuriating part.

They could have EASILY had Marlene's people rescue Ellie after that last stunt of jumping across semi-submerged vehicles had gone (predictably) wrong and then have Marlene state that she's not gonna return Ellie to Joel because the whole agreement was dropping her off AND because Elie's mother was a personal friend of Marlene's.

This could have trigger Joel's maladaptive surrogate children PTSD SO EFFECTIVELY and made for a much more compelling arc NOT involving senseless child murdering.

Ugh!

Amy Henning deserved better...

The worst part is that some of the writing on 2 is downright genius... There are nice environmental details like finding out that some dumb bastards had tried to rob a bank during the outbreak and had found themselves left to starve in the vault. There's also a bit about a ship's captain trying to impose quarantine at sea that could have easily been left out, but the game's all the richer for it.

It definitely is the work of a talent but wild writer.

manhunt loved it and in the end pigsy yes you have to kill to survive but not in glory fashion for the snuff and extra points.

Batman pretty much ever game but for the sake of this question Arkham Knight.

I mean you can't tell me he broke some spines when he fought of those goons non killing my butt with how much force he uses against them not every goon is Superman Batman hitting them extremely hard on their spines by a fully trained man can and likely will break it.

A Disney movie showing a cigar?
Not the first time that has happened in a Disney film, but I think it was one of the last animated theatrical Disney films to do so.

TLOUS2, Uncharted 2, and Dead to Rights: Retribution. Though at least with Drake in 2, he was more so being pragmatic and leaving the villain to a worse fate, then simply shooting him. Zoran Lazarević dies to a much worse fate than getting shot.
the old splatterhouse arcade game
No it didn't, nor did any of the sequels. Jennifer's death is less of a "kill them, and you'll be just like them", and more a of tragic twist and a subversion of always rescuing the love interest/girlfriend. Namco did that, because nearly every game at the time had a happy ending where the girl gets saved.

My favourite variation of the trope is when the protagonist stops the deuteragonist from killing the big bad by telling them that they should have blood in their hand so he'll handle it.
This is so Amos Burton from the Expanse coded.

As another variation of this trope, I hate wading through the sea of dead bad guys only to be beset upon by like...three dudes in a cutscene and the character surrenders.

Don't worry they didn't actually die, unless they were the bad guys™️, but in that case they deserved it anyways

I was thinking of this scene when I've written this post.

But there are also Japanese series with that trope around (especially older series).

Unless said guys are elite mooks/the antagonist's lieutenants.

But I kinda agree, in Surface 2 it felt weird to see Bond arrested by like 3 soldiers in the Bunker's entrance.

At least Statue's ending with like 5 guards + Mishkin pointing a gun at Natalya made more sense.

Just like another actor who played a role in a Hercules adaptation, Kevin Sorbo (who played Herc himself in both the TV movies and full-length show of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys).

What is it with Greek Mythology and certain actors who portrayed certain characters turning out to be batshit crazy?

I mean Greek Mythology is pretty nuts in itself. Zeus especially. lol

AND THEN ALONG CAME ZEUS
UNFORTUNATELY ZEUS WAS REALLY HORNY
ZEUS WILL FUCK YOU... LITERALLY
ZEUS' BASTARD CHILDREN
ZEUS EJACULATING HARD OVER THE PALACE FLOOR
ZEUS MASTURBATING IN FRONT OF A MAN AND HIS WIFE
ZEUS HAD SEX WITH A NYMPH
am i taking this too far?

I think I kind of understand the reasoning behind it:

Killing a faceless soldier in duty who's armed with a rifle is different from killing somebody the protagonist knows who is unarmed, neither battle trained nor in a battle stance.

This is why most series are showing the nameless henchmen as masked people (often to not make them relate or be aware that they're still another human) in many media:

Like the Shoker soldier in Kamen Rider or the Zolders in Goranger

Maybe it would require a different psychological mindset to kill someone while looking at their eyes so that the protagonist would hesitate.

And this explains why the big bad is often a jerk and ready to kill the protagonist themselves so the story could at least justify it as self defence and have the hero not being "morally stained" by killing someone in cold blood.

I remember reading that most Disney villain death are from falling to their doom so not only they don't have to show their dead bodies but also making it so it's only their fault for dieing than the protagonist killing someone
