When it comes to character creation, do you prefer a boy or a girl?

When possible I always choose a girl, it's more fun when you have to change equipment.
EDIT:
Or with the Pokémon games, for example. Girl.

Give me the option and I will choose female avatar 80% of the time.
The only every other time I will choose male avatar, is when I want to self insert, provided there's a rather detailed CCC.

Also good question.

It depends on the game - i.e I could choose a boy in Pokémon Ruby and a girl in Sapphire, just to distinguish the characters and their Pokémon; in games like Dragon Age I always choose a boy, usually trying to give him my likeness.

no reason to choose a girl if its a first person game but if its anything else... well

If the game is huge into actual "Role playing"(giving choices with consequences) a male most of the time. But if I am creating a party in a Dungeon crawler or something like Dragon Quest III or IX, some turn based strategy ones(Games that give you most or full control of your party creation), An all female party with lots of different races and alignments.

I like to either make a brown tomboy with short straight hair and a few scars, or an androgynous cute boy.

I tend to do the girl one as not all character creators are kind enough to let me do what the hell I want.

Depends on the customization options. If the character creator doesn't distinguish between character gender when choosing hairstyle/clothes I play as a woman, if not I go with whatever designs I think look better

Não tenho nenhuma preferência.
Eu uso o que é mais significativo para mim.

I don't really self insert in games so I make whatever is cutest to me.
Normally, girls have better accessories. But either way, I'll think of them as my kid somehow (go forth my scarab...) A boy with brown hair and scars is best. But they often look too plain.
I'll replay a game with the opposite gender if there are changed story bits or different romances.

Always girl. Picking a guy character would feel too weird tbh. Not like I have any particular reason to play as one anyway lol

When I play a game with a character creator, I tend to choose boy. Mainly because I'm the opposite audience for character creation. Lots of people like to get real creative with their designs but I'm the exact opposite.

You've got people building "Reinhardt the Paladin" or "Sakura the Untouchable." Then there's me with my Preset #1 named Jim.
