Whats your opinion on pirating game because of their price?

Don't tell me you guys would actually buy roms if they were all commercially available
I would, actually... depending on where the money went and how much they cost. I wouldn't buy a Tiny Tanks ROM (okay, ISO, but you know what I mean) from Sony, but if it were sold and the money went into a trust for video game preservation, I absolutely would pay for it. If the money went to making the planned sequel, I would also buy it.

But since none of those things are happening, nah, mate. Of course not.

Honestly, I don't have my own income yet and the few money are for other stuff so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mmh a nice pick for your example.
Tiny Tank is such a good game. I would love to have a physical copy, a working one of course.
I just can't trust buying an old copy from some online shop.

I tend not to really consider piracy for games easily available on the market somewhere, at least when specifically referring to price. If it's something I want, it'll eventually go on sale (unless it's a Nintendo game. ::badpc) Pirating a game no longer available on the market somewhere that the physical copies have gone up to insane prices though? Yeah, I don't feel like paying hundreds of dollars for games that just won't get re-released for some reason. It's not like the game companies would be getting that money anyway.

Do it.

The more expensive a game is, the more you NEED to know if it’s actually a game you’d want to spend that much money on. Games are meant to be played, not ogled.

Collect, please, it’s very fun. But don’t be uppity if people UNDERSTANDABLY just want to play a dang game.

Pirate responsibly. Don't accidentally download classified government files and follow your country laws and i think you'll be fine.

But morally wise? I think piracy is completely ethical, if you like the game you can always buy it to support the developer.

Also some developers willingly dont sell some of their games, so IMO that would be their fault.

My opinion is opinionated.

I would make sure to pay for what you like. If you don't it won't get made in future.

After a while for certain games, I feel they have made their money. e.g. the silent hill games which have now become collectors pieces...

I just pirate when: 1) it's easy to do and 2) the game is old af

I wouldn't pirate like, say, a PS5 game because (as far as I know) it's hard to do and besides I still want the online play to work.

So I only pirate older games (3DS/PS2 and so)
In fact, pirating games made me buy later entries of said games. For example I played samurai warriors 2 through emulation and later I bought samurai warriors 4 on my PS5. Same happened with the .hack series, I played the first four volumes on emulator and bought the GU remakes for PS5.
On a side note, the original .hack games are so, so expensive, more than 100$ for the four discs, I don't think anyone aside collectors will buy them at this point

Would you consider it theft if you read a book in its entirety inside a bookstore without purchasing it?
Actually some store forbids that.

Japan bookshops and manga shops explicitly says that I think.
