Thankfully, there’s an easy trick, if you check “search titles only”, it’ll only display thread titles corresponding to the word searched.

That’s very true, I personally still have a couple starters as my favorites, Sceptile in particular who’s quite popular in the circles I frequent

It's another good pick but I think that the first gen starters and most of the fire starters are popular because Fire type is overpowered in most of the early game (since Bug and Plant types are often basic level mons) and how Gamefreak seems to love giving Charizard fanservice compared to the others.

I can attest that most people that love Grovyle are PMD Explorers fan hehe.

I often get confused about Shiny legendaries because they are supposed to be unique.

My pick is going to have to go to Dusclops.
One, it's a mummified Cyclops with a red eye. Cool design.

Secondly, and more importantly, he's a menace on the battlefield for the unprepared.

I personally like to run one with

+252 Def, +252 SP. Def, 4 HP Pressure
Relaxed nature, holding an eviolite for a held item.
Knowing the moves

• Seismic Toss
• will-o-wisp
• Rest
• Sleep Talk

This thing is deceptively bulky wall despite it's low hp pool. If it's lucky enough to be in a double battle with trick room support, it's extra annoying to deal with.

It even survives a lot of super effective hits well, that some other more frail mons would die to. It still has to worry about staying in too long with super threatening fast mons like Sneasel, though.

Overall I'd rank my boy a strong 7.5/10,8+with support.

Yes. Mustelids are cool. Also like Mightyena. Try to fit at least one dark type into my Pokemon teams no matter how impractical it is.

I wish that pokemon looked more like an actual hyena than a wolf with hyena features.

Dark pokemons are sadly nerfed and neglected over the gens.
