what's the last game you finished on EVERY difficulty setting

this may be the only game in which i did that

the game may be repetive but it was fun
TGDB - Browse - Game - Gungrave G.O.R.E.
oh hell yeah Gungrave.. i think mine was Ys Ark of Napishtim, Ys Origin and Dragons Crown..

Metal Gear Rising. Got whooped by Hard so I worked my way up from Easy, then eventually beat the two unlockable difficulties.

Lately I've been losing my touch. I've beat every Resident Evil on the hardest up to Resi 4 Remake and 9, still working on those.

I've finished every Ninja Gaiden and their respective reissues on Master Ninja/Ultimate Ninja, yet I'm stuck on 2 Black and 4, mainly because I just don't really mess with 4 all that much, but I'm still trying.

I've had a hard time getting through any type of RPG lately even though it's one of my favorite genres. Specifics I'm stuck on are...

Persona 3 Reload
Witcher 3
The Outer Worlds
Mass Effect 2

And a whole bunch more. I just can't bring myself to be in the mood to sit through them, but I'm tackling ME2 right now because I've put it off since finishing 1 back in 2022.

Idk, it's not from a lack of love for playing games or anything, I think I'm just getting older and don't have the same reaction time or game sense that I used to have, and it's a bit frustrating. Specifically my first playthrough of Witcher 3 has yet to finish, and I started playing that in freakin 2018.

But, to answer the question straight. I think the last game I finished on Max difficulty was Doom the Dark Ages.

I beat this game in Easy, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare

Hmmmmm... maybe GoldenEye?? Mostly because you had to beat certain stages on certain difficulties to unlock all the cheats. I wasn't the best at that game by any means, and beating it on 00 Agent - only to unlock the 007 difficulty - was such a deflating moment. But I am proud to at least say I did it all by myself, back in the day 🥳

Wish I could say the same for OG Doom, as another user posted! But the respawning enemies in Nightmare mode were too much for me to take. Maybe someday I'll try again...

I also made it all the way to Volgin in Snake Eater on the Extreme difficulty, but just couldn't beat him. And knowing that I still had the motorbike chase scene AND the fight with The Boss at the end made me kinda glad I stopped where I did 😅

Where I can choose difficulty, I usually play on "Normal" or Easy" or, as said in a previous post,
(quoting Tonberry - I really like it in certain modern games where you can tweak individual difficulty and help sliders to make an optimal personal experience), also I never play a game more than once; last game I've finished it's been "Bravely Second" on easy settings and I've enjoyed it SO MUCH MORE than the first "Default".

Oh wow! I think it was YS Seven. I played that thing so much that the stick on my PSP started to wobble. The game itself is not super difficult, but that
Scias
battle is so annoying.

To the point that it’s almost unfair in Nightmare difficulty . ::angrygenjin

YEESSSS! At first I thought that the first encounter was unfair (I know it's scripted, but it was my first time playing the game), but then I reached the well of souls on nightmare and after bashing my head for like 20 minutes, I almost gave up, haha :D

We desperately need a modern re-release of the game - the PC/PSP version just don't do it for me anymore. A "YS Memoir: Seven" perhaps? A man can dream!

i never beat Rising.. i spent way more time on Anarchy Reigns and Vanquish... but I spent way more money on Rising ironically than both of the other two

On normal difficulty is pretty manageable, but on nightmare is really tough. If this is your first time playing, normal provides a good balance. It's about the same as Napishtim and a bit more challenging than Origin. You're in for a good time!

cool! oh yeah i ripped thru the hardest stuff on Origins.. i loved Toal/ Thor's playthru but I actually thought Hugo Fact's playthru was more difficult.. dont even get me started on the Arena mode stuff.. Adol and Toal was the most fun to do that with.. Yunica is just all around fun, not the best, not the worst... thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, Hugo felt a bit like an afterthought. Like, the idea is great on paper. He's a mage that focuses on ranged combat and the game was clearly designed with melee combat, so smashing monsters from afar felt like cheating.

But man the controls were not adjusted. The diagonal shooting snaps the character into a direction and there's no in-between shooting. This feels very awkward and not something you always want.

Adol and Toal are the most fun, I agree!

yeah, they should have made Hugo control more like a twin stick shooter, but it was closer to something like Cannon Spike Cammy... its prolly the engine and how its made, I dont know... ill get to SeVeN soon, so thanks for the heads up
