What's the best anime you've ever watched?

I'll be that guy and post Legend of Galactic Heroes.

80s TV and VHS had some great series with various genres

Favourite:
Candy Candy
Getter Robo
Ulysses 31
Captain Harlock
Nils Holgerson
Igano Kabamarou
Tao Tao
Sandybell
Pinocchio
Heidi
Around the World in 80 Days
Dogtanian and the 3 Muskethounds
Maya the Bee
Aizenborg
Born Free
Panda Adventure etc

But also some meant for ages 13 and up. Of course I did not know that.

Locke the Superman
Lazerion
Andromeda Stories
Arcadia of my Youth
Windaria
Wind Warriors etc

When it comes to post 2000s, I pick Haibane Renmei
Heidi is so beautiful its timeless. Some 15 years ago I gave a DVD with a few episodes to a friend of mine who is a mom and now her kid is about to go to college and she still loves it.

Toonami Aftermath has it
No I watched OG Dragonball when I was 25 in 2007. One of my workers kids loved that and z so I started watching it with them. Anime of what I can tell(or maybe I was old) wasn't big here in Australia(well where I'm from)though I did watch some bleach on pay tv here or there at the time

The best anime is hard to tell, but I recently watched Aria (1-2 ep a day. Took me one month) and really really loved it. It changed something inside a pessimistic person like me and is now easily one of my favourite things.

Thanks very much for the recommendation. I've just finished the first episode, and I have to say, I can already tell this will be an anime I will love.

Also, if you enjoyed this anime, you might also like Mushi-shi, which shares a similar aesthetic and is also a very nice, humanistic, and peaceful anime.

Aria.

Clannad, and Clannad After Story.

Angel Beats.

EF a Tale of Memories, and EF a Tale of Melodies.

Kaiji Ultimate Survivor.

Kobato.

Koe no Katachi.

Josee, the tiger and the fish.

Utawarerumono (Ignore the sequels).

Millennium Actress.

Sunday Without God.

Nodame Cantabile.

Plastic Memories.

Currently, I'd said Frieren Beyond Jouney's End, but Cowboy Bebop and Psycho Pass season 1 are also contenders

deffo these 4:
lupin the secret of mamo (1978), akira (1988), trigun (1998) and vampire hunter d bloodlust (2001)

Man, Trigun is such an underrated masterpiece. It's weird how so few people talk about it.

I remember watching 1/4 of it and then dropped. I loved the artstyle, the action was really cool, but remembering how were some cringe moments with Vash I'm not sure if nowadays return on it lol. But it's the same reason I wouldn't dare much with Slam Dunk, even if both are great classics.
