What's a game everyone loves but you don't like it?

There's always been some healthy skepticism on FFVII in the fanbase. I remember looking at the previews of FFVII and not being super excited about it at first glance. The hype and CGI cutscenes eventually won everyone over, but I think most Final Fantasy fans who aren't specifically FF7 fans can admit that there are some serious flaws with the game.
Same happened to me with IX and VI but I love VII and VIII

FF7 is overrated, but the localization probably is heavily to blame for that.

Marvel Rivals. Just Overwatch with a coat of paint.

As for overrated old beloved title?

Dark Cloud. Easily Level 5's weakest title and the sequel improved on it in every way.
Is your profile picture meant to be the troll face if you squint? LOL.

What changed with the localization, or at least some of big things? I've never seen someone talk about this with 7.
Zack's motivations, the whole deal with Jenohava and Sephiroth was a lot better explained.

Turns out Cloud isn't suffering Mako poisoning. It's more like an addiction, some kinda subtle social commentary on drugs.

A lot of context was lost in the eng translation, sadly.

That and the fact Cloud isn't actually his name. Just some edgey crap he picked for himself.

Has anyone ever done a re-translation rom for it?

I fucking loathe Witcher 3, Ocarina of Time, all classic Mega Man games, The Last of Us, DOOM (2016), Breathe of the Wild, and Red Dead Redemption 2. They all play like absolute bogwater dogshit. Molasses coated games. I hate them all so much

Probably not a super hot take here, but I've tried on multiple occasions to play the FF7 Remake and just can't get into it. I like the original, but the Remake's slow pacing and iffy combat turns me off each time I try.

I haven't tried Rebirth, I can't get through the first one to even get there.

How about Eternal? That game's pretty fast!

CoD: Black Ops was mid at best, and
LoZ: Breath of the Wild, while decent, is nothing to write home about.

Resident Evil in general.

I cannot cope with what feels like a gRape Simulator.
Truly a nightmare, just like those in my childhood in which I cannot run... them Tank Controls, I swear... LOL

I seem to enjoy Parasite Eve much much better.

God of War and Devil May Cry are other two series i don't like

approached various chapters during time/different console generations, just abandoned quite fast;
probably for the same reason i didn't like the 3D Castlevania on Xbox360 too

i prefer series like Prince of Persia, Soul Reaver, possibly quick time events free and not totally action oriented;
and i have liked the Castlevania N64 chapters, and Curse of Darkness on Xbox/PS2

I got DMC - Definitive Edition in the PS4
The gameplay feels fluid and interesting, but my eyes simply cannot cope with the strain of its pallete.
REDNESS GALORE, from the screen straight to your Eyes.
Red Eyes, the game.

Never been able to get into any GTA games after trying several. Closest I got to liking one was Bully (which isn't the same but close enough).
Undertale bored me enough to quit around Hotland (I think that's what it was called) but Deltarune actually kept me interested so far

also i want to add a game that not personally hate, more soo perplex me...
Why do people love FNAF soo much? WHY?

I don't know what I don't like more about the CoD games, their cookie cutter gameplay or their toxic as hell player base.

The movie is the thing that perplex me the most. But yeah maybe you are right xD

I'm going to be honest, I really am not a fan of fnaf at all. it just... doesn't look, feel, or seem like any fun.

also, I have never been a big fan of gta games. the second I try them, I do a few missions, fuck around with cheat codes that make me fly around, go on a rampage, and drop it. there are no exceptions to this. I can't imagine playing the whole thing.

I havn't given minecraft a fair chance to be sure, but I am not fond of my initial impression. I'd kinda rather program a game myself than make something in it. honestly it just made me miss little big planet.

Three games come to my mind when asked this question. Also this is my opinion.

I’m probably gonna get murdered for this but, I don’t really like Sonic Adventure 2. It just doesn’t work out for me. The controls feel stiff and the camera works against you rather than with you. The Treasure Hunting stages also overstay their welcome and are more frustrating than in SA1.

I also don’t really like Skyward Sword. The problem for me is that the game is very linear and hand-holding. It also has severe pacing issues, such as the beginning of the game and The Song of the Hero Quest. The controls are also a mixed bag, every now and then the motion controls will fuck up and be unresponsive at the wrong time. The locations you also visit feel very generic and overuse one single color in the environment. I can see a good game here, it’s just there’s too many setbacks for me.

Mario Kart 7. This game in my opinion is boring. It feels like a step down from previous entries. There’s also very baffling exclusions in the game. I do like some of the courses in this game, but I grow tired playing this game. It felt like Nintendo was trying to play it safe with this entry. Though, I’d gladly play this over Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart Tour any day.

Less a game that everyone loves and more of a game that people who are fans of the franchise really like and that I know and acknowledge is good, but I don't like it anyway. Anyway, I'm talking about Super Robot Wars 30.

It's a good game, I've played some of it when my bf came to visit, and I could see how it could be fun, but honestly my main problem has nothing to do with the game itself but everything surrounding it.

To be extremely blunt, for a game claiming to be the big 30th anniversary entry of a long-running franchise, it sure didn't feel like it. Like you'd think they'd do something that felt just a biiittt more special than just mostly throwing in series that were in the last 3 games, 4 new series (one of which they REALLY shafted), and just overall making it feel less like a special event game and more like an entry that honestly could've just been released at any point in time. Honestly, if they did not constantly remind you that this supposed to be an anniversary game, I probably would not nearly have as much of a problem with it as I do, but nope, they feel the need to remind you that this is supposed to be the *special 30th anniversary game* by less than subtly winking at the camera about it. (ESPECIALLY in the skits you get when you save and quit during a stage)

Not to mention the things that WERE included for the 30th anniversary were included in a half-assed manner. Like some of the mech animations and sprits for the OG DLC units were just uuuggglllyyyy.

Like I know this franchise is a licensing nightmare and it's not cheap, but I have to sigh that some of the most interesting inclusions are locked behind paid DLC. (Mostly looking at Sakura Wars and Getter Robo Devolution) "Oh but Tau, can't you play as them for one stage?" One stage, yes. But if you want them as part of your main roster, you have to pay for the DLC. Not to mention the scaling of the DLC units isn't very good to the point where some units won't do a lot of damage no matter how much upgrades you put into them.

Honestly SRW 30 is one of the reasons why, even though I actually really like three of the series they've revealed so far for SRW Y, I cannot bring myself to have any reaction other than apathy towards it.
