What was your first PC game?

When I was in elementary school, they loaned out computers to kids who didn't have them so we could learn how to use the core programs and navigate computer UIs and junk. I went to the library and installed Diablo on it. It ran like dog shit but I was stoked. When I returned it I got in trouble because they told us not to install any games or anything lol.

Discounting freeware and games from the 500-in-1 CDs...
Likely Sims Double Deluxe, or Sim Theme Park. I didn't use the PC especially often until I moved the first time.

NOOO I GOT CONSCIOUSNESS AND I HAVEN'T PLAYED ANY PC GAMES YET. GET ME OUT OF HEAVEN NOW

Well this put me on a long, hard, think. I can remember the first game I played being Super Bobmer 2 when I was a toddler, but first PC game?

First I played was... on what I think was on a BBC Micro Computer, In Foundation School (I think Is the Uk equivilent to elementary school.), It was Podd and It even had a special "keyboard" for It.

But owning? My first computer was a Windows 98, and..... I don't remember, the earliest I do remember was Army Men.

My first PC game was a port of Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue. Never got far as I wasn't a bright child but I really did enjoy it. I would absolutely go back to play that game the older I got but I don't think I remember finishing it. Certainly is an old school gem for a licensed game.

The original Prince of Persia.
My dad was a professor, so we got early access to computers, and he brought a 286 home. I also recall playing Golden Axe, Commander Keen (I think it was 4), and many versions of Tetris.

It would likely have been Monkey Island. It's one of the few PC games I can confirm as having played before the age of 5 since I remember playing it on my dad's lap in his office before he moved somewhere else.

...and once I was old enough to own my own computer, I think the original Fallout or Fallout 2? If we're talking other peoples' PC games, I believe the original Roller Coaster Tycoon at a friend's house. I was a console gamer for like, ever. Which is odd, because my mom had a few CD-ROM games I couldn't play that were hers.

Which reminds me, I need to post on that other thread.

Oh crap! I've been browsing this thread, and I think I remember another first PC game! Probably the first one I was allowed to play!

This one! I remember playing the practice mode on Jewel Chase (the BGM is still a bop), and this one game with bouncy rays of colored light where you matched them to a sun. I stunk at the others, heheh. I think I was too focused on games that came on CD, but I think my mom installed this to her computer because I don't recall needing the disc to play it.

Definitely either Chip's Challenge, Ski Free or Math Rescue on the school computer labs.

Pretty sure it was this DOS BattleZone clone called Stellar 7. I don't remember it being particularly fun, in fact it was hard as hell, but it did sport a cool '80s Sci-Fi aesthetic:

Definitely got into all those Windows 3.1 like Chip's Challenge, and a ton of DOS games way back then as well. Too many hours playing OMF2097, Dungeon Hack, Civilization, Pirate's Gold, Descent, SkyRoads, etc.

Have preserved them over the years and still have backups of a bunch of DOS games and save files from the 90s. My parents were very much into electronics and tech, so we usually had some kind of PC, even when times were lean.

Was usually a couple of console generations behind, though. I remember going to a buddy's house and playing Mario 64 while I was still mucking around with the original NES. Those were the Blockbuster days where you could still rent consoles, so I did get a taste of the Genesis now and then.

I remember playing Diablo II on a friend's PC when I was a kid. For someone who only knew the NES, it was like finding a real treasure. In fact, I was so hooked on that game that my mother forbade me from playing it because I was neglecting my studies.

If you exclude preinstalled windows games, I guess my first one is this:

After that I found a demo disc with Age of Empires 2, Monster Truck Madness and Motocross Madness, used to play the shit out of these back then.
