What was your childhood's dream job?

For me, I always wanted to do voice acting. When I was a teenager I tried getting involved in some small projects but all of them fell apart.
I think it's important for you to choose which or what kind of characters you'll like to voice act, whether that be the badass, confident, the shy, extras or cutesy

When I was a kid, an astronaut... but then I found out the moon was made of cheese. As an adult, it matters less what it is; only that it doesn't drag my soul into the muck.

When i was a little kid i wanted to be a president and got mocked for it. When i grew up a bit more i wanted to be an astronaut and got mocked for it, again. In high school i wanted to be an attorney but made the right call of no telling anyone. Nowadays, i'm on my way to be a chemical engineer.

Maybe it's little weird, but I wanted to be a history teacher :).
And I'm historian now, but archivist, not a teacher. 😀

Game designer
Farmer "yes farmer thanks to I was so addicted to Harvest moon on Snes"
PC technician which I did become

When I was in kindergarten, apparently I answered this question with "a bus" because I really liked busses. So I guess at one point I wanted to be a bus according to a piece of kindergarten homework.
I went through a lot of phases. At one point I was really into drawing and art, and wanted to be a comic artist but drifted out of that after a pretty long time. I've wanted to be a rock star like every teenager really into metal and the guitar, but that never works out for 98% of people who want to be rockstars- I played exactly one 'show' in a friend's basement party where we badly covered a Death song then never played again. Right now, I want to be a writer of some variety I think as my hopefully final form, and maybe a game designer while working my restaurant job. Writer is more likely, as I have no ability to code or actually make games.

I had absolutely no aspirations for a career as a child, and I didn't understand how any of my peers could have such a desire. I just wanted to be a kid and let the future come when it did.

Which really bit me in the arse...

I had the same phase at university. I joined 2 people who were looking for musicians for a band they wanted to start. I played on bass sometimes also doing second vocals or choruses. We played hard rock and metal covers, but also created some of our own hard rock and metal covers of popular pop and R&B hits like Jason Derulo "Whatcha Say", Bruno Mars "Grenade", Jessie J "Price Tag", Lorde "Royals" and few Polish songs like Brodka - "Miał być ślub", Pectus - "Barcelona" or Zakopower – "Boso".

We managed to survive for four years and played about if I remember correctly 30 gigs, mostly in clubs.

Hell yeah man, you were more successful than like 80% of musicians. I just play for the hobby of it now, I usually play in bursts where I'll get really into for a few weeks then go another few focusing on other hobbies.

Still better than throwing your life away on something that only makes you want to die.

And I'm not playing anymore. I sold my guitar years ago. Sometimes at parties with karaoke I'll grab the microphone (although I've never been a good singer).

Fun fact. We even tried our luck at casting for the Polish version of Must Be the Music talent show. We were rejected at the first (non-transmitted in TV) auditions.

Anyway, as it happens with such programmes, very few of the finalists and winners go on to have a longer and more serious career in the music market. In the case of this programme, it was even more semi-finalists who made a bigger career than the winners and finalists of the all editions.

In 2nd grade I remember wanting to work for McDonalds because I assumed I'd just get free food. When you have a kid's metabolism you don't realize just how hellish living off of just fast food would really be lol

It is funny though, because through most of my life I've never had much of a drive towards a career. I've had passions for various hobbies that I could have pivoted into careers, but the idea of doing them professionally almost always seemed like a buzzkill. I was a lot like this guy, I suppose.

Shikamaru is relatable lol

Rice farmer. I'm not joking 😂
I wanted to own fields and grow my own rice. I heard my mother said, "Money don't grow on trees, stop wasting money," and thought, then why don't you grow rice and sell rice for money? I thought I was genius lmao
