Honestly, I hate trends. Nothing good ever comes of it and we, the players, always have to suffer because of it.

I find Jaffe absolutely fucking insufferable. The guy hasn't made anything of note since Twisted Metal on PS3. While most will say since 2005, I genuinely enjoyed Twisted Metal PS3. It just seemed like most people viewed the car combat genre as outdated at the time and didn't give it a fair shake.

I'm not sure if I like seeing a younger Kratos but I wish that if GoW had a 2D game it would be still a beat'em up like Streets of Rage (but bloodier) or a pure action/platformer over making yet another Prince of Persia The Lost Crown.

Truthfully, this game is the most interested I've been in the IP for a long time. Never really played the previous games, despite having the first two games and the reboot on disc. The spritework is pretty, and it's nice to see a big studio work on a project that is smaller scale and different to their usual far. No PS5 here so I'll not be playing it any time soon.

Yep, the same guy that got stuck in the beginning without understanding he has to aim to shot to destroy blocks and move on. Anyone still takes seriously a guy like this? Also ngl: GoW1 level design aged really bad, especially the introducing ship level. Getting lectured by a guy like this on how to make a game is like asking "AI artists" to review the Monna Lisa as a piece of art.

Good for you. It's working for most other people, just fine, and I appreciate the change up. Sometimes you gotta change it up for the right reasons. Most of the people are having fun or don't have a problem with it, then it's not harming anybody. I know YMMV, but the game is out and doing fine, and there's really not much else you can do about it, other than ignore it, and move on.

People always going on about wanting cheaper games. And there you go. It's probably not how you wanted it, but most people don't know what they want until they actually get it.

Although he is out of the running with the franchise, Jaffe helped craft and pave the way for Kratos during inception, I believe if he were back in the saddle, God Of War would be in a much favourable position right now compared to daddy and son, Sony cinema slop.

Jaffe was only involved in the very first game, which was surpassed by every other main entry in the series by leaps and bounds, and he has done absolutely nothing of note since then except complain and whine. (I think their was some really mediocre PSN cops and robbers game no one remembers) It gives me no small pleasure that a majority of current GoW fans likely have no idea who Jaffe is. Me neither, I've always been more of a Gordon Freeman and Caleb fan overall.

Duke Forever sadly stained the franchise and made people (especially those that haven't really touched Duke 3D) believe that Duke Nukem as a character aged badly and is just a caricature with raunchy humour when the original games were more satirical and still had some serious stakes under the humour.

This reminds me of people telling that God of War before the PS4 semi-reboot "has always been ridiculous" when in fact it had some more serious moments...
