Yeah! For example this website shouldn't be named "Retro Game Talk" because most of the games here are vintage so it should've been "Vintage Game Talk"!!!3DS and Vita are NOT retro!
Not YET, at least.3DS and Vita are NOT retro!
I don't give a certain amount of years for a console to be retro. To me a console must feel like it comes from a completely different era to be retro. I don't consider the PS3 or 360 to be retro because they both have online gaming, digital downloads, and HDMI output. Not YET, at least.
To me, if a console is at least 15 years old, then it's retro.
It runs so loud these days T_T b-but that's how you know that the little ps4 is trying; is doing it's best! *nodnod*my favorite retro console is ps4

You know, unlike the 3DS and Wii U online stores, the Vita's online store is still open, for consumers at least, not for developers, but you can still buy games digitally, it will more than likely shut down any day now but for the moment it is still open.Even since their support ended,
3DS and Vita have becoming one of the biggest system for homebrew devs outside of EmulationStation Linux Handheld.
Prices of the 3DS & Vita goes up high especially New 3DS model.
3DS Emulation is very good but Vita isn't.
Both are considered to be the Ultimate Handheld to play Native GBA/DS/PSP without the use of emulation. Hey it's not perfect but it's get the jobs done.
Both System are very respectable in the Handheld community especially the Retro Handheld Community.
As a kid who grow up in that generation, it's shocking that both 15 year old systems are considered retro despite their gap is more close to Nintendo Switch than PS2/GameCube.
Yeah, that's not how it usually works though, people called the Super Nintendo Retro in 2003, I understand it's subjective but generally speaking if a system is no longer being supported by the owner company, or if they close online stores then it's considered Retro, in some cases however like the PS3 and PS Vita while online stores are technically still open, they are closed for developers, so I suppose they also fall under Retro. Not in my eyes because my idea of something being retro is for something to be 20 years or older Plus it would make me feel old to consider the 3DS and Vita to be retro since I grew up with the 3DS and I'm only 19
Gen Z getting nostalgic for games that are only a decade old. lolNot until they turn 20 in 2031.
Now now, let's not pretend like we, old hags, did not feel nostalgic for the N64 and Playstation in 2004.Gen Z getting nostalgic for games that are only a decade old. lol
I had OOT on Gamecube by then. I was more interested in NES because it was before my time. Now now, let's not pretend like we, old hags, did not feel nostalgic for the N64 and Playstation in 2004.
Counter Facts!facts, sony doesn't have any other handheld console and a lot of vita games ported to ps4/5 and PC seem very recent to me, not retro at all,
one of my all time favorite games is on it, Ys 8 (don't play this on Vita though, more content on PS4, PC, and switch)
and nintendo well, i personally don't think the switch is all that portable but nintendo wants to forget 3ds ever existed, there's not enough 3ds to switch ports, I like what they did with bravely default and some other gems on 3ds need to be remade (kid icarus uprising is the best 3ds game)
