Unsurprising given that it's been a while since they've had a successful launch. Aphelion was easily their worst game to date, having really no positives to speak of.

That's sad.

Whatever you think about the lads, they really left their mark in gaming — and I feel for all of those developers that are gonna be jobless amidst an industry that sees them as disposable.

Since Tencent owns at least 40% of the studio, there's a good chance they will just go forward with a complete acquisition of Don'tNod. But whatever happens, I really do hope the people working there don't end up in unemployment because we already have far too much of it in the industry with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Honestly, a lot of developers there don't deserve to lose their jobs, but I do think some game studios need to die sometimes. I know that a lot of people were touched by their games, but to me they always came off as "corporate woke". Like it wasn't real, it was designed specifically to sell to queer folk, and that just doesn't sit right with me.
