A Ninja Jajamaru RPG collection was on PSN for $3.50 this week, so I picked it up (along with
Kill la Kill if for $2.50, schwing!) and have been playing the first game included,
Ninja Jajamaru: The Ninja Skill Book. It's a standard 8-bit Famicom JRPG in the vein of Dragon Quest, and really doesn't do much different from the norm, but I don't believe I've ever beaten an NES JRPG before, so I figured this was as good as any. I actually have a small bit of fondness for the Ninja Jajamaru series – the original arcade game,
Ninja-kun, is very cute and fun, and I happen to like having a JRPG with a far-Eastern influence rather than a Western fantasy one.
The game is pretty good so far, but does take some grinding. Fortunately, on
@Ajderniz 's recommendation, I've been listening to
MrEdders123's documentaries during each grind sesh, and it's actually very relaxing. (Those videos are
great!) I like the game's art style, too, and it has a silly sense of humour that's highly appreciated. I'd really like to finish this – I'm only about 5 hours in, but I'm having lots of fun, and I look forward to what's up next.
